Selçuk, well known for its museums and cathedral, features attractions such as Ephesus Archaeological Museum and Selcuk Efes Kent Bellegi History Museum. This historical city has something for everyone including sights like Ancient Theatre of Ephesus and House of the Virgin Mary within a small-town setting.
We saw shops and restaurants but we travelled during the winter time (low season) when some places were not open or busy which was fine with us because our main interest was the ancient city of Ephesus from Revelation 2.

Excellent
There is a lot to see in Selcuk, not just as a stopping place to visit Ephesus. We were going to Istanbul afterwards and I'm so glad we saw a quieter place before the busy city.

I was in Selcuk in 1995 and it definitely has grown busier! But there are little gems to find and recommend heading to nearby Sirince for dinner and strolling by shops!

Is all about Ephesus which is pretty cool. Just ignore the hawkers at the gate who will rip you off
"We had a lovely stay at Livia Gardens Hotel. The service was exceptional and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We loved using the pool during the heat of the day and really loved the location in the old part of Selcuk. "
"Great family run place in the centre of Selcuk. Very friendly hosts with all information about the area. Large very clean room with comfortable beds and a big shower. Cleaned every day as needed. Breakfast on the foof was plentiful. Pool was so beautiful in the garden, I wish we could have stayed longer!"
"Mr. Can and the entire staff welcomed us with open hands and open hearts. Their hospitality was genuine and warm from the very beginning.
Mr. Can’s deep knowledge of Ephesus, Asia Minor, and the biblical and medieval history of the region added so much depth to our experience. He took time to share his insights freely and passionately, going above and beyond what we expected.
We are truly grateful for his kindness, generosity, and dedication. This was not just a stay—it was a memorable and enriching experience. Highly recommended! "
"Hotel is just in the city center close to everywhere ephesus, house of virgin mary etc.
Rooms are clean with balcony and very nice castle view. Highly recommended. "
"Location was quiet and peaceful yet it was only a block away from the main city thoroughfare. The breakfast was fabulous, great homemade pastry items, eggs cooked to order, and farm to table fresh veges.
The staff, starting with Hassan, were warm, friendly and helpful. The breakfast chef was amazing!"
"Really nice stay, everything as it says in the information and photos. Very clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, and nice, quiet location. Definitely recommend!"
