- Frere Hall


Frere Hall is a beautiful structure built durign the days of the British Raj in 1865. The main building, built in the Venetian Gothic style stands in the middle of two large and green lawns which extend to the road. Head to the gallery located on the first floor of the building, full of paintings by Pakistan’s iconic artist Sadequain. The gallery exhibits his masterpieces of paintings and calligraphy. There is also a library. Every Sunday, a book fair takes place where you can get cheap books.


- Abdullah Shah Ghazi Mausoleum


Located on a hilltop overlookign Clifton Beach, the tomb of Syed Abdullah Shah Ghazi is built on a very high platform. The tomb has a tall and sqaure chamber with a green and white striped dome decorated with Sindhi tile-work flags and bunting. Devotees visit the tomb of Abduhall Shah Ghazi often, a ninth-century Sufi who claimed direct descent from the Prophet Muhammad and is thought of by his followers as the patron saint of Karachi.


Transportation in Karachi

The most common way of getting around in Karachi is by public bus. There are regular bus services that run from the airport into the city, taking about 50 minutes. These buses can get very crammed, so some visitors may prefer using taxis.
