I would give a zero rating if possible! The property appeared rundown when we pulled up, though we were tired from travel and not terribly picky. We entered a dingy looking office area. We had passed a lady outside who was smoking and did not acknowledge us. After a moment waiting in the office, the lady came in and asked if she could help us. I said we were there to check in, and she promptly said there were no rooms available. I said we had a reservation, to which she rudely said the rooms are given away first come, first serve. I asked what the point of a reservation is, and she shrugged. We had our camping gear, so I asked if there was anywhere nearby to camp. She said no, but we might find a room in Browning or one of the other small towns. She handed me a paper with the number for the manager in case I needed to contact them for my refund. I could tell she considered the conversation over. Part of me felt thankful we weren't staying, as I feared what the room might be like based on the general look of the place, however, my daughter and I needed a place to sleep.
We stopped in to the Circle R motel down the street, even though it said "No Vacancy", I hoped they would be more helpful. The guy at the counter was very pleasant. When I told him what happened, he said they had four other people that evening with the same problem! Thankfully they also have a property nearby with cabins and RV spaces. He said we could set up our tent there, and charged me just $10 for a site.
