Photos on the web site are of a modern building not the dump we were in. For the price I would at least expect basic necessities like towels but nothing provided. Not even a wardrobe to hang clothes. This is for those who really prefer to rough it.

Massive problem when we arrived the team had cancelled our booking as someone else with a similar name had previously checked in so they assumed it was a double up.. so we had to be put in a temporary room and moved early part way through the stay, ruined the holiday, not really apologetic about it. Charged to store luggage, kitchen facilities in the flat very poor and under equipped, when asking the staff for an additional pan (only 1 in the whole flat) told there was nothing they could do. A fire alarm went off at 4am (not the staffs fault) however NO direction given at all just left standing outside not knowing what was happening. A shambles of a stay the staff seemed more keen on chatting to each other and enjoying the festival than helping

Basic accommodation

Overall it was an okay stay but feel the price for what we got was ridiculous. The walls are really thin and felt like I couldn’t speak to my friend without possibly disturbing others. The room looked like it hadn’t been hoovered found a bobble and kerbie grip on the floor, there was a bag in the drawers and a spray in the cupboard that looked like it had been there for ages! The bathroom and kitchen was very clean tho. I found the beds quite hard but did manage to sleep no bother my friend is slightly bigger than me and found it uncomfortable and the bed made a noise every time she moved. Only spoke to staff on arrival and checking out but they were really friendly and nice.

Basic Cheap and close to castle..and nightlife

Basic but central and handy for the castle.. bathroom and kitchen clean and well equiped. Dont forget to take your towel..staff friendly and helpfull.

Enkelt og greit. Du får det du betaler for. Gode senger og nyoppusset baderom i blokk 1. Fint utgangspunkt for å delta på festival i området. Kan med fordel bli noe flinkere til å vaske fellesområder som bad og kjøkken.

Basic but pleasant

The room was very basic but clean. The downside was that there were no towels and not having been to any hotels previously that did not supply towels we hadn't taken any so was unable to take a shower. This wasn't ideal as the day/night we were there was very hot!!

Very dirty. The floors obviously hasn’t been vacuumed in weeks if not months. 2 showers on the entire floor. No bath mats meant that the shower was a death trap. £3 for towel hire, £3 for luggage storage per item

It was in a *great* location, it was always well-cleaned, and it felt secure - especially since we were six floors up. My only complaint is that the lack of either hand towels or dryers in the bathroom and kitchen was a bit difficult to deal with and the kitchen wasn't as well stocked as it could have been. Overall, I definitely recommend this hostel.

Basic accommodations

The location was excellent - walking distance to everything in Old Town. The room was cramped because the beds were bigger than standard twins. The desk chair was unusable because it could not be pulled out far enough to be sat on. There was no place to hang towels or clothes. The mattresses were thin, and so the springs could be felt. There was a charge for the towels that was not mentioned in the reservation information (one pound per towel per day). The bathrooms were clean and updated and sharing them was not a problem. The staff was pleasant. Excellent wifi. The reservation mentioned a breakfast for £3.50, but it was £4.50.

A Good " Hostel" dont expect a " Hotel"

I checked into Euro Hostel during my casual trip to Edinburgh with my friend. It is a makeshift accommodation hostel during the student holidays. Since this is a "Hostel" , you should not expect luxury features like an attached bathroom. The following are my personal opinion: PROS: 1. Excellent location. Close to Edinburgh Castle market and other historical buildings. If you are tourist, all Day Trips leave from castle market very close to the Hostel. 2. Clean Hostel. Rooms were clean. Toilets were extremely clean. 3. Cordial staff at the reception. They tried to help to the limit of Hostel facilities. 4. Good restaurants, departmental stores ( Tesco/Sainsbury) in the vicinity. 5. Fast Internet. 6. Kitchen facilities available with fridge, microwave, utensils, cutlery available for you to use. PROS: 1. Since this is a hostel, don't expect towels in the room. You need to either bring it from home or rent at the reception. 2. No body wash or soap. Please bring it from home. 3. Common Bathrooms.

Billigt, men inte värt pengarna

Vi kom innan check-in och ville lämna väskan på hotellet tills rummet var färdigt. Det gick bra mot en avgift på 3 pund/väska. När vi fick rummet var det ostädat på golvet och en av kuddarna saknade örngott. Dessutom saknades handdukar. Vi fick örngott, men rummet kunde inte städas eftersom städarna gått för dagen och receptionisten inte fick lämna sin post. Handdukar fick vi mot avgift/deposition. Fem rum delade på två badrum och ett kök. Det ena badrummet lyckades vi inte låsa, det andra var ofräscht. Det saknades hyllor att lägga sina saker på och det fanns inget varmvatten när vi skulle duscha. Sängarna var obekväma och det saknades ventilation om man inte lämnade fönstret öppet. Rummet var extremt syrefattigt efter en natt. Det fanns frukostpåsar att köpa i receptionen, som man själv gjorde iordning i det delade köket, men det provade vi inte. Hissen var trasig när vi skulle checka ut. Jag kan stå ut med att stället är enkelt och saknar alla bekvämligheter, men jag förväntar mig att det ska vara rent och att allt ska funka. Jag skulle inte boka det här stället igen.

Отличное расположение, приветливый, готовый помочь персонал, очень чистые зоны общего пользования. Из минусов - абсолютно непродуманная неудобная система ключей. И тотальный холод в комнатах. В Эдинбурге в этот летний период постоянно шел дождь, было холодно, и согреться и высохнуть в хостеле ни разу не удалось.
