Total False Advertising-Discusting Rooms
The exterior looks great. The rooms are awful. We had several rooms, as we were traveling for an event, so we had a good view of multiple rooms. One room had underwear and a to-go box left behind. The front desk was great about moving that room. Another room had a piece of bread come out of the fold out couch. Another room's lights didn't work. Another room's bathtub flooded and the curtains looked like a murder scene, as there were red stains on them. Mutliple room had old batteries in the smoke alarm, which led to the constant beeping. Also, multiple rooms' couches were stained and some looked like male excrement. If this was one room, maybe they could get a benefit of the doubt. However, we had seven rooms and they all had issues. There needs to be a real look into the cleaning of these rooms. This is total false advertising, as the pictures show a false narrative of the reality of these rooms. Front desk was helpful, but the room were discusting and we all felt dirtier for staying in them.

Just for looks.
The exterior is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are outdated and run down. Not even five minutes into our arrival in our room maintenance barged in with no warning or knocking. Asking if our shower wasn’t working. Come to his realization he was at the wrong room. They do appear to be doing work. We heard drilling from the room above at 10pm. Even though they have “quiet” during 11pm-6am guess it meets the time frame but an fyi for those earlier sleepers. The bed was comfortable the first night but was so hard after the second night my back was hurting. The thermostat was at a set temperature of 75 unable to change. Leaving the room stuffy and hot during our stay. When taking a shower we were only provided two towels for our party of three, they were so thin I was scared they were going to disintegrate from the water of dry my body after the shower. I tried to call the front desk for towels, to my discover of the phone apparently only being decorative and with no cord attached. The complementary breakfast was very small portions and the lady serving was rude. Don’t dare take your own coffee mug you’ll get yelled at. We were expecting Frosted Flakes as labeled but got corn flakes. My husband also got food poisoning, he ate the eggs and sausage he was the only one that ate thankfully. Two stars for exterior historic beauty and the lady at the front desk being helpful upon arrival.

I feel catfished
The photos online certainly portrayed a different feel than the actual property. While the front lobby looks alright, the second we drive around the building

Get what you pay for nicer hotel down the road.
We check in Friday night we out to get food came back to the room and found several roaches and spiders on counter. At least 10 roaches found in the room went to the front office because no one answered the phone. They upgraded me to the second floor two king size beds, but it seems this room was in an area where maintenance worked. There were bikes on the balcony the sliding glass door did not lock, did not receive room service Requested a new set of towels, and I had to walk all the way to The front office to get towels. In an afterthought, this Hotel had four star rating. I highly disagree.

AVOID THIS PLACE
AVOID! We stayed at the Vanllee Hotel in Covina CA from 9/25 to 10/1. Our stay at this hotel was not pleasant to say the least. 1. For starters, the AC was not working most of the time. The first time I talked to someone at the front desk, I was told it was the whole building, which it did eventually come back on. The second time, I was told that maintenance would come up and check. We waited all afternoon/evening, and no one showed up. AC eventually came on the next day at some point. After that, it was out again. The next day I complained about the AC not working once again, I was told it that the whole building. That night my friend ended up getting a severe asthma attack and almost called for an ambulance because the room was so hot and stuffy (even with the window and door open at night). Monday, our room got up to 80 degrees and we had to leave just to get away from the heat. Thankfully the AC was working again before we had to check out the next morning. 2. The internet was spotty at best. I brought my laptop for work and was not able to do much at all because the signal was so weak that my computer (and both our cell phones) kept bounding off the signal. 3. The hot tub was not working, which we were really looking forward to. 4. Turns out the in-house restaurant is not open. According to the website, it's still there and functional. 5. There was a breakfast, but it was minimal at best. 6. No vending machines, ice machines, or laundry machines. SO MANY MORE ISSUES!

The heat did not work, thankfully the days were warm so there was natural heat. The hot water stopped working but they fixes it once I reported the problem.
