Good place for a family holiday.
My daughter and I stayed in a suite here and were very happy. The rooms are very large. The suite has two large bedrooms, a bathroom (adjoining both bedrooms) a kitchen, a dining room, and a large lounge room. The kitchen was well-equipped. There was no washing machine, but I believe there was a guest laundry. The rooms are fairly quiet at night time. The airport is so close to San Diego that you can always hear the planes from pretty much anywhere in the city, and this is no exception. As long as you're not planning on sleeping in, you'll probably be fine with it. The neighbourhood is fine. Extremely close to Balboa Park; the zoo and museums are all an easy walk away. There aren't many great restaurants in the area, but the Italian district or Gaslamp district are a 5 minute Uber ride away. There's a 24 hour 7-11 right across the road. The area was fairly safe but there were a few drunks around at night. Some reviews have mentioned the fact that this place tries to get you to attend one of their timeshare presentations. Yes, it's true. But, they take 'no' for an answer which is what you want. It's a minor inconvenience. If I were staying in San Diego again as a solo traveller I might choose somewhere a bit more upmarket but for a family stay this place was perfect.

Old hotel, in average condition
We didn’t book this hotel by choice, Hotels.com cancelled our booking and this was offered as a replacement. However, for the price paid for 3 nights we were really disappointed. Hotel was very old, condition of rooms was quite poor. Great location, service was good. Staff do their best under the conditions. Breakfast was average.

This spot was a great deal for a two bedroom suite. Close to Balboa Park, close to freeways. We walked a bit up to Hillcrest and there were many places to grab breakfast. The sale pitch was pretty low key and we chose not to attend. The roof deck seems nice, although we did not partake as it was very hot when we visited. While we didn't use the kitchen, it looked quite functional with plenty of dishes and nice size table. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Amazing location
Such a great place to stay!!! We were able to walk to some of the attractions and restaurants. Loved the ability to cook breakfast in the morning so there was no need to leave for food right away! All of the staff were so friendly and helpful!

It was conveniently located but the park. It’s part of a time share, which is good and bad. Good because big rooms and kitchen with living room. And bad because they really want to sell you their properties.

Valet parking was helpful as there was little parking. Concierge invited us to a Wyndham time-share meeting. We spent one of our two nights booked here due to a horrible airport delay on our way into San Diego. I wish we'd been able to spend both scheduled nights here. The beds were some of the most comfortable of our 2 week trip and the mini apartment feel of the room was SO welcoming. The building is historic and so a bit dated, but it was beautiful. The shower, which can make or break a stay review, was great with good pressure (no spending 30 minutes trying to rinse off the shampoo!.)

Really nice place
Really nice place. Clean, comfortable, convenient to Balboa Park, Zoo, etc. Staff are all very friendly. Would definitely stay again/recommend. The beds and pillows are very soft- I love it, spouse not so much. I did not know ahead of time is that this is a time share. We are not members and were very caught off guard. When you use hotels.com you don’t except to have the time share pitch. We avoided it, but it would have been better if I knew after 13 hours of traveling that that’s what I would be greeted with. The room we had was advertised as two queens. These are not queen sized beds. They are full/double. My 2 teenagers (6’3”, 170 lbs each) struggled to share a bed. They struggle in a queen at the best of times, full was rough.

Definitely recommend
We stayed here for the Braves and Padres game. Only minutes away from stadium. Went to the San Diego zoo and it was just around the corner from the hotel. The rooms were very clean, beds were super comfy. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and had more than enough space. All employees were so helpful and would definitely stay here again.
