Cooms Inn:
Late arrival, virtual key software didn't work, so had to go to another location to get inside hotel and room. Clerk didn't direct us to our parking spot, so it was very taxing to unload the car. Floor was sticky that shoes got glued in. From not being mopped, I guess. They had a nice comforter, but no duvet, so 2 sheets that comforter was wrapped , got lost in the process. How cheap can they get? The room was so small, 2 people couldn't comfortable move around.

Christmas Eve
The hotel is a delightful 1995 building. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony overlooking the historic graveyard. Just two blocks from all the action it’s a great location. The contactless checkin was a disaster. It’s too complicated and frustrating. After 3 attempts we gave up. And had to go to another hotel to get a key. We were told this happens all the time. There was no flexibility for check in without paying $25. We were the only people staying at the inn and it’s Christmas Eve. Oh and if you did not want to do contactless and go pick up a normal key. It’s an extra $10 All this just was too much fuss. The heat and air in the inn was under lock and key. And we were too hot and had to sleep on top of the bed. The bed was a spring mattress and very un comfy and squeaked every time we moved. There is a lovely common room downstairs with sofas and dining table. We took our wine and chocolates down to watch a movie. Yes there was a smart tv but it wasn’t connected to the network. It’s a great piece of property at a good price and we enjoyed having it to our self.

Mobile key system is a disaster
The room was fine for a historic property but getting access to the room was really bad. You get an email with instructions on downloading an app to use your phone as a mobile key; if you want a physical key, it’s $10. The email doesn’t mention the hotel name but comes from some unidentifiable place so it went to my spam folder. Had to call the hotel for help, Downloaded the app and got the key but it doesn’t say the room number. So I went to the hotel but there’s no front desk on site; it’s run by a sister property half a mile away. Had to call again to find where my room was. Then the mobile key didn’t work so I had to call again. They ended up having to give me a physical key. What a hassle! Don’t think I’ll stay here again.

Location, location, location.
Neat old house with a great history. Large room with nice deck and common areas. Easy walk to downtown. Reasonable rates for area. Check in all done by phone/text. Room key is your phone. More of a hassle then you would think and don't leave the room without your phone. Bed was not very comfortable and made nearly as much noise as the traffic on rte 98. Rte 98 is the biggest issue for the traffic goes all night and the house sits on the road.

Could’ve tried harder
There seemed to be one too many struggles with the inn. I struggled with access and the app. Unfortunately, there is no one onsite and I had to drive to the other hotel to get physical room keys. Upon accessing my room, I noticed “room rules” that stated free maid service every third day. I don’t think I should have to pay extra for more frequent service if needed, especially when there is only one towel in the room. The towels and pillow cases were white which showed off the couple of towels and pillow cases that were worn and off-white. One of the pillow smelled as well. Just as annoying was the thin walls. I could hear every little noise. When someone was anywhere near my door, it sounded like they were in the room with me.

There is "no there there" in Apalachicola. A town the world left behind. Check in at property difficult. Had to go to another sister property to get access. Not worth the hassle.

Beautiful room
Everything was very nice but my husband doesn’t do stairs very well. 3 flights with luggage was a bit much on him and couldn’t find an elevator. Probably said that on the web sight but I just didn’t read it very well. Room was a bit warm for us but no ac setting.

Charming room in a coastal one horse town
Just Needed a place to sleep because heaven forbid I have to share a house with my family on St. George island. Very convenient route to the island. Clean and comfortable. Had no complaints. Room never got cleaned. Not sure if that’s extra or not but it did seem like there was an extra charge for everything. Can’t control the temperature in the room and it was rather cold however i have turned up my hotel rooms in Florida before to normal room temp and wake up to a muggy wet room. So it could be for a reason. Too much decaf stacked in room needs more regular. Overall good experience. My biggest complaints are the town itself, nothing is ever open. The coffee shop doesn’t even open till 8. Then everything starts closing down around nine. If you’re gone doing stuff all day, it’s hard to check out the town and enjoy what little is there.
