Great Vibe and Excellent Staff
Rooms felt spacious and were clean. Common areas too. We were able to find chairs at beach and the (multiple) pools. We did a sunset horseback riding tour (amazing), but other than that were entertained for our 3 full days and 4 nights at the resort. A small shopping lane with souvenir shops is available. The staff really was the highlight. Gracious, friendly, and very interested in making our stay great. They were always present when you needed something (not used to that in the US). Drinks were good and you rarely waited for someone to come by to ask if you wanted to refill - or pick another to try from the menu! I'd say the buffet area was always crowded. Restaraunts were worth doing as an option if you wanted that experience. Check the menus posted. One note- I did not realize you needed to turn in your key and pool cards to get a little ticket upon checkout. This is presented to the bell captain when your ride arrives. I'm used to leaving keys in room and taking off but that's not how it's done. Luckily this process didn't delay our departure to the airport.

Unfortunately I thought this was the adults only resort. The Riu hotels in Punta Cana are not affiliated which means you cannot visit another Riu property. Other Riu properties on this resort will not serve you free food or drinks and they are on the same resort.

I stayed at the Riu for my husbands birthday. The hotel is very nice and clean. They did forget to decorate the room for the day I requested so I had to complain and they did it for the next day. The buffet and restaurants have very good food. Most of the staff is very nice. For the most part we had a great time. The entertainment was excellent and the RIU parties were so much fun. I do want to give a complaint about the transportation. I didn’t have a reservation because I failed to book it from the beginning with Expedia. however, that was not that big of a deal as we took a cab from the airport to the hotel without a problem. My issue is when we had to book the way back I had to speak with a rep from Destinations Services. First of all when you approach them they have bad attitudes and if you didn’t have a reservation they want to act like they don’t want to help you. The rep Oddell, when I was trying to explain my problem, he kept interrupting me talking over me with a very sarcastic and intimidating way about the way he speaks to you. Anyway, I booked the transportation back (private one) and on the day of my departure and the time of (3:30pm) I called because no one was there and he gets me confused and on the phone sounds so robotic telling me that the transportation is on the way because it was picking up more people. However, I reserved private transportation! He calls me back and told me that the transportation was cancelled and to look for other transportation.

The rooms smell like sewage. The rooms need upgrades. The bathroom shower need to be leak free no water running out on the sides . Not to much choices on the food . Breakfast was terrible.

Overall horrible experience , I’ve stayed at the RIU in Bahamas and Jamaica and both exceeded my expectations. In Dominican Republic we had to change our room because the AC was leaking . The new rooms toilet clogged 3 times and they took over a hour to come fix it . Outlets did not work could only charge my phone in the bathroom . Some of the staff was racist in my opinion , wouldn’t serve my darker family and I’ll never go back the manager Wellington was no help and careless about our situation . Never again

Property was very beautiful, the nightly entertainment on property was a bit boring however the Riu parties are amazing . If you want to go shopping or go off property ,taxi are readily available which you can book at front desk . The food wasn’t bad the buffet had variety of options including Dominican food .Their are other Riu hotels beside the Riu palace which you have access to , so you can also try their food if you want to. Rooms are stocked with , soda , alcohol and water ,which they do daily , housekeepers comes everyday to clean your room . However , my bathroom wall had a lot of mold , on the glass , around the pipes and in the creases , think they need to pay more attention when cleaning the shower , bleach and disinfectant can easily get those off .I did inform front desk about the dirty bathroom and the immediately offered to changed the room . Overall it was a nice hotel amazing service, will definitely go back in the future

Our pillows and bed sheets had a bad smell to them from the humidity. Our clothes were wet from the humidity while hanging in the closet. The a/c unit was loud and sounded like a tractor. We enjoyed the beach, the staff was amazing and friendly, and the food was very good.

The room furniture is disgusting. The bed mattresses were molded, the couch was dirty, the shower rusted out and falling apart. The room is the worst. The rest of the property was enjoyable and the staff was friendly. But stay somewhere else because the rooms are horrible.
