The hotel is really old and needed of a full renovation at this point I don’t understand why Expedia keeps putting the hotel on their website. The only place you would feel comfortable is inside your room. The rest of the hotel is super hot there’s no air conditioning on the dining room your clothes begin to get hot and wetter as you eating the food. The food is not the greatest is very limited and simple save your money and go somewhere else.

Do not expect the usual all-inclusive resort: food is not available all the time. There is “snack time” if you miss lunch but the menu is very limited. There is one eating option - a restaurant that serves group feeding sessions with basic options. It’s like a cafeteria, not much in the way of service or options. Food is underwhelming. There is one bar with a sticky counter and staff half interested in helping. They didn’t have smoothie machine working all the time, and not always fully stocked. Do not expect diet soft drinks - they just don’t have them. The pool once had a bar but it was closed when we were there and appears to now be used for storage. The property is in disrepair, but functional. Do not expect much in the way of amenities. There are many flies. The pool and beach were very nice, but when you attempt to use any equipment there are fees to rent or use them. I saw one attempt at an “activity” in the way of two team members try to get ppl to play volleyball, with no takers. It’s more like a 2-star than 3-star, overall. Safe was working in the room. In-room TV was fuzzy, bathroom was functioning - limited warm water some days. Saw two ants in the room. If you go with low expectations, you will enjoy the beach and pool. You can’t leave the resort to explore anything on foot, it’s highly secluded. If you do go here, be sure to book outside activities. If you can select another option, do so - this one is not worth the cost - at all.

This hotel must have been great when it was new but know it’s just a dirty, disgusting shell of itself. The beach was the only nice part of this Hotel. We booked 6 nights here and only stayed 2 nights before we moved to a different hotel. There was no hot running water and most of the time there was no running water. All of my family got sick from this place. There was mold throughout the our rooms, bathrooms and everywhere else. When we brought up our concerns the staff just replied they are working on it, which after some research and talking to locals this has been going on like this for years. We were told from Tish who I think is a concierge or something for the hotel that this is how management is and even though she doesn’t agree it’s the way it is. They told us we were not getting our money back and they were worried about bad reviews. I told them I would be honest and if it didn’t paint their hotel in a good light then it’s not my fault. Like I said the beach is beautiful but it doesn’t erase all the bad that this hotel is. This could be a great place if somebody really wanted to fix it up, so if you want to have a fun, safe and clean place to stay then look elsewhere. Fantasy Island is not the place you. If you don’t care about running water, safe foods or getting sick then this is the place to be.

Attention Americans, this is by far the natiest establishment I have ever been to!!! The all inclusive has cheap liquor, no cokes, and some nasty icees, the hotel carries no bath towels or wash cloths. They give you beach towels to dry off, after bathing in COLD water. With a stinky toilet that would no flush! The all INCLUSIVE FOOD, sat out side all day with flies all over it!!! It was the most uncomfortable feeling ever. In a foreign Country, no car and no where to get some fresh food. It was miserable, to top it off you had zero WiFi in the filthy rooms so you had to stand in the Hot Foyer, couldn’t use your phone, and had to pay $$$$ on my phone bill due to the charges made to find another hotel!!!! It was a rough start to our vacay, thank god for car rental and Clarion suites resort!! Do not stay here I’m still fighting these thieves. Not to mention the reservation lady with her unprofessional *** but she was probably upset after having to work in that heat! No hotel guess want to come from a long trip to stand in the heat and deal with attitude, no food, and flies!!!! If I could put a zero! I would it’s that gross, over allTHE ISLAND OF ROATÁN IS BEAUTIFUL AND SHOULD BE EXPLORED BUT NOT AT THIS PLACE!!!!

Worst experience ever. We left our things in the car To anybody reading this review right now, I'd suggest that you to finish reading, close this tab,and forget you ever thought of staying here. Yes, it is that bad. I would advise that you take the time to read this review if you want to know every reason why this place. We checked in and walked outside and when we got to the area where the food was, we were shocked.... It was outside, without any cover over the food and flies were all over the food. When we saw this we're disgusted. It was some weird sausages, hard beard (almost like a rock), some type of mystery meat, and soggy, fly infested fries. We, however, had no choice but to eat it as we had just gotten off a plane and had no other food. The only thing I can say about the food is that it is barely edible and anyone who has any love for themselves would not eat much of it. For the rest of the stay, my family and I only ate food that came from boxes or was already bought that way. For example fruit, cereal, juice, and just anything store bought. Once we finished eating this "snack" we decided that we would get our belongings, which we had left in the car, and head to our room. We were sent to room 113. We could not believe our eyes. Mold everywhere. Duting the night they cut the electricity and the water. No internet or phones available in the room to communicate to the lobby. I just recommend to rent a car to escape from this place. This place is horrible.

The location and views are exquisite. And, this used to be a top notch property. Unfortunately, the owners must no longer be investing in upkeep and service. The staff is lackluster at best. The food is terrible. The room was ok but had patches on the walls; the shower didn't work properly; and, the lights were all out in the bathroom (which smelled like a latrine).

Very very bad
I understand this is the hotel that has been on the island for a lot of time, but it’s such a shame that it has been deteriorating over time. I regret booking on this hotel, thinking that I could do something different other than west bay. This stay has been horrible, first the room had a weird smell and everything was like old and it seems that no good maintance. Then, the overall service horrible everyone seems so bitter. To finalize, I confirmed my shuttle to the airport 3 times and I was aware that I needed to pay but at the end, they placed in a group shuttle (thats the impression) where the driver was bitter and with a very bad mood. I could’ve easily taken a taxi, but the 3 times I confirmed they told me I was going to be out on a bus part of a group. That’s ok, but we made a stop as part of the groups request and the driver was such an ass. I love roatan, but definitely DO NOT stay in the fantasy island. Not solo, not with a family.
