I enjoyed the stay. The room was quiet, the bathroom was new, check in was quick, the price was very good, bar was comfortable, drinks were not expensive. Didn't have breakfast. If you are looking for romantic stay then this is not the place but i think it was good and has character.

Fab hotel
This hotel is brilliant, staff are great, rooms are nice we was on 3rd floor as they have been recently decorated, they have a live singer on every night! This is not advertised enough round the hotel, we found this on 2nd night the live singers are fab! Will be staying again the grounds around it are stunning too! You get what you pay for and more I loved this hotel

Avoid at all costs!
Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. A big, run down, dirty hotel. From the rude receptionist when we checked in to the 1970s avocado bathroom suite with bodged piping repairs. We were only staying overnight and leaving early to catch a flight from Prestwick but it was so bad we left early. Continual shouting in the corridor, someone running up and down, doors banging continually. If you’re thinking of staying here, honestly don’t! Just terrible.

Cheap and nasty.
Checked into the room to find a lighter laying on a table. Also in the bathroom on the floor were two bowls one had water in it and another looked like it had contained dog food. On the walls there were splatters of blood!!! The mattress was very uncomfortable. You could feel all the metal springs.

The hotel looks amazing from the outside, quite grand and the grounds are lovely but the staff are dreadful. During dinner the staff ended up sitting with us in the dinning room instantly turning it into a works canteen rather than a restaurant.

Good location, set in its own grounds. 24hr manned reception with friendly staff. Smart clean communal areas. Room was very warm, bed comfortable. Only issue was in the bathroom, behind taps was covered in mildew / mould which I was able to wipe some off so feel this is a cleaning issue rather than general wear and tear. Some mould on silicone around the bat, silicone seal had failed around the bath allowing water to run down the wall underneath the bath and would explain why the bath was springy whilst you stood and had a shower. Other than the bathroom issue I felt it was good value for money, would recommend/stay again.
