The worst Intercontinental experience.
Check in process was the worst. There were two staff who were not helpful and very rude. (Probably we saw the rudest ones! Because there were nice people at the reception during check out)The amount we paid definitely did not worth to stay there. Although they should have been upgrade us due to my status with Hotels.com, they gave a basic room and disturbed us 4 times in 1 hour with phone calls and staff's door knocking for no reason! This was my worst experiences with Intercontinental Group hotel.

This property is in an excellent location, close to the beach and not far from the historic city centre. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. The pool area is excellent. We upgraded to the Club lounge level and the breakfast, cocktail and afternoon. Coffee were all very good.

Arguably the best hotel I've stayed in anywhere in the world. As of 2024 the lobby, hallways, rooms, common areas, and amenities were all in exceptional condition. Staff was always very helpful, in all areas of the property. Stayed for 5 days and mostly saw the same faces each day. Most of them speak fluent English, which helped since my Spanish is horrible. Great pool, and a great place to watch the sunset. Spa services were excellent. Food is very delicious. Mere steps away from the beach. Mall located inside hotel. Other shops nearby. Colonial Cartagena and attractions within 10min cab ride.

Cartagena needs to fix its tourist services. It's too informal. The hotel was nice; the bedding was great. The staff was kind. The pool area was fine. The food wasn't amazing but it wasn't too expensive either. The area was nice but there were annoying street vendors in the surroundings, just as within the walled city. Unemployment and informal employment dominate the city.

The hotel is really nice and clean, beautiful views of the bay and ocean. The pool area with the bar is very beautiful with a view of the ocean and sunset. They have DJ on weekends and a lot of events going on in this hotel like company meeting, weddings, birthdays. The city needs to clean up and fix sidewalks and streets around. The vendors are relentless, if you don’t know prices they will take advantage of you. We couldn’t book breakfast on our online reservation which was $15.00 for 2 people per day. When we got to check in the recepcionist wants to charge $25.00 a person per day and keep trying to upgrade us to an upper room not once but three times. We glad we do not get the breakfast because it was mediocre, you are paying for the ambience of the hotel. We got fresh made delicious breakfast at another hotel nearby. Overall the hotel is beautifull but the hustle with the tourists get stop.

The property is well kept & secure. I felt safe at my hotel & the location wasn't too far awy from the center. I was really happy to have Andres & Roberto at this hotel as they both spoke English & was bmvery helpful. Roberto was very caring & gave good tips about the area. Andres was helpful & attempted to arrangement dinner for me at one of the popular restaurants. Eber one of the taxi driver was very kind & helpful. He shared a lot about the beauty of Cartagena & made my last night so special by taking me to the clock tower. Iam glad you all ha e these 3 men on staff! However, I would say you all need to work on the communication about puck & drop off. I was told by a ulervisor because of the confusion with my pick up I would be dropped off at no charge but was then charged for the service. I reached out to the hotel & shared that my airport ride was supposed to be comp & then they realized it. The miscommunication is disheartening & could leave one not wanting to stay at your property.
