Special anniversary stay
We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights. The kaiseki was delicious, onsen was relaxing but what made our stay special is the staff who welcomed us. Definitely, worth the stay.

Homely hotel, convenient & value for money Stay
Enjoyable & comfortable stay at this small Ryokan hotel next to Gero station. Very convenient for visiting other tourist sites near Gero & Takayama. My second stay at this hotel. Good price & friendly service. As a small hotel, onsen is still not so crowded if one choose the non peak time for a soak. Gero has good alkaline onsen water with its silky feel... The town is large enough for enough activities, like shopping, sight seeing, walking, dining options, etc. a good place to experience Japan.. Highly recommended for visitors to Gero, & value for money..

Will come again
The room is big and clean. Dinner and breakfast is excellent. Hot spring is clean and beautiful. Since the hotel have limited guests, I can enjoy the hot spring all by myself in most of the time. The staff are very kind and polite. Very near to the train station. They gave me a coupon which you can get a 10% discount at their souvenir shop. It offers a 5 stars room, food and service.

Good hotel to stay. Near to JR station. Staff are friendly and polite. Superb breakfast and dinner which we enjoyed the most. Outdoor onsen is not big but you can enjoy it alone most of the time because the hotel has limited rooms and it means less crowded. Will recommend to friend.

Matsumikan is a great place to relax
The hotel is little dated, but the service is amazing. So polite and welcoming. My name was on the welcome board when we got to the hotel! The outdoor onsen is really nice. It was raining and it was great to be out there under the roof while enjoying the hot springs. After 2 nights there literally every ache and pain was gone in my body. We had the traditional Japanese breakfast and it was delicious. The servers were helpful in explaining what things were in limited english. This hotel is just a short walk from Gero station. Gero is such a sweet town.

Our traditional Japanese room was very clean and the futons were comfortable. The onsen here was very nice and relaxing - an indoor and outdoor bath was available. It was a good location, right near the Gero train station.

Close to the station.
The hotel is close to the station. Just a short walk from the underpass. Friendly staffs, as usual for Japanese hotels. The room was quite clean despite some hairs on tatami mats. Wifi signal was very strong and fast. The onsen was mediocre, but overall impressed.

Overall it is a pleasant place to spend a night. The service lady for our room was very attentive and cheerful. Dinner was average but for the price we paid for an Onsen hotel, we can't ask for more though the Japanese breakfast was simple and nice.

Comfortable Ryokan near JR station
This Ryokan was a great place to stay and relax away from the large cities in Japan. The staff were very friendly and most spoke English. The food was excellent with many local dishes served. The room was very comfortable and had an attached restroom. The onsen was clean and very relaxing as well. This is a perfect place to stay if you're looking to relax or take in local sights, it's about a 2 minute walk away from the JR station and perfect for day trips to Takayama or elsewhere in the area.

Decent Hotel next to the station
Just 2 minutes walk from the JR Gero Station. The manager and other staff are very polite and kind. Dinner is very good. Onsen is a bit small with no good views.
