GREAT Hotel, AWFUL Elevator System
This hotel was great, located central to everything we wanted to go do and the subway station for things that were further. Great service, very accommodating and helpful staff-- they even lent me an umbrella when it rained! Our room was great, small but perfect for the 2 of us. I would NOT call the bathrooms very private, as the doors didn't fully close well or lock. It was basically a little sliding door with a gap even when shut. Comfy bed, great views! We ate at Versa, the onsite restaurant, one night and the food was delicious also with great service! Overall everything was good but I do want to say: THE ELEVATOR SYSTEM IS ATROCIOUS. Whoever invented this system needs to be fired. We had to wait almost 30 minutes, TWICE, to be able to get to our room because of the assignment system, where the elevator tells you were to go. This in theory doesn't sound too awful until the assigned elevator is jam packed and you can't get on multiple times in a row and have to get "re-assigned". Absolutely hated this so much, that we ended up taking the stairs down 21 floors because it was easier than waiting for their awful elevator system. Absolutely awful. As great as everything else was, I probably wouldn't stay here again unless they changed the elevator system.

just eh.
The shower was cold/ colder/coldest. awful Let run for 15 to just get cold water. Tried for 2 days to get the "free" breakfast. Was told it was on the 5th floor then was referred to the 6th floor, then back to the 5th floor. Then was told they really had no idea unless i wanted to pay for breakfast. Not cool. Customer service was absolutely horrible. suich a shame for a nice hotel in an absolutely great location.

A memorable and comfortable stay
We had the pleasure to stay the Renaissance in Midtown on our 10th anniversary. We were only in the city for 3 days and this was the highlight of our trip. The staff is so kind and courteous here. The way they speak to customers is clearly distinguished from the other hotels we stayed at. They’re warm, welcoming and helpful. I want to send a special shoutout to Julie and Vina to going above and beyond and upgrading our room to elevate our anniversary experience at the Renaissance. When we walked into our wonderful room, there was not only a gift but a handwritten note, which is such a sweet touch. Ladies, if you’re reading this- thank you so much. We had a great time! The room was super clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and we truly felt luxurious staying there. Will definitely return to the Renaissance.

Our second time staying in NYC and we loved the Renaissance Hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. They kept our luggage while we walked around the city before check in. This hotel is in a great location and is steps away from Penn station to catch the subway. As a bonus, there is a Chick fil A right outside the hotel.

Gem of a Hotel in Midtown
Amazing gem of a hotel! Stayed at many properties in the Times Square area and this is my new favorite. This is a new property in excellent condition with well-proportioned rooms, especially by NYC standards. Great location, steps to Penn Station and Macy's.

Great Hotel, Odd Bathroom
Wonderful room. Great location to MSG. One thing that was not to my taste was the frosted barn door style bathroom door and the glass surround (facing into the room) for the shower. The shower had a shade that came down on the inside of the room to provide privacy. Personal preference here, but I didn’t feel like it provided a lot of privacy. Super clean and comfortable room other than that. I just prefer a more traditional bathroom with a door and a fan!
