First time visit - would def stay there again.
This hotel was perfect for our last minute visit to NY at a very busy time of year. We love the location (quieter area than Times Sq but has everything you need...food, access to subway/bus, shopping, parks, Christmas markets, etc)

Fair.
Pretty good, it was quiet. Noise from the hallways easily travels in but couldn't hear my neighbors. Premium queen is a tight room, but clean and comfortable. The light in the shower and the light above the door constantly flickered while on. Although the faux wood blinds have a nice esthetic, one of the blades was broken leaving a good 2 inch viewing slot into my room. Also the outlet on the right side of the bed was too loose to hold anything I plugged in.

Wonderful staff but booming loud music all night
The Freehand Hotel has a very nice lobby, a good restaurant, and good-enough rooms. It was somewhat reasonably priced, at least compared to other hotels nearby. Every person we interacted with who worked at the hotel -- front desk, housekeeping, security -- was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Big however: There is a club in the hotel. The club played blasting music that we could hear in our room. The club was still playing music at 4 am, when I finally went to the front desk to complain. It was simply impossible to sleep. Regardless of the wonderful staff, you couldn't pay me enough to go back to this place.

Not worth it
We stayed here for a Christmas weekend in December. Unfortunately it was extremely over priced for what you got. The rooms were a bit dates and VERY small. During our stay, our shower stopped working in the middle of me being in there. No water coming out, light flashing from the ceiling. I alerted the front desk but nothing ever happened. Thankfully we were leaving the next day but the service and the quality were severely lacking. It was in a great location and the cocktail bar was amazing, so those were great!

Disappointing.
Great location but we hadn’t realised that the hotel has a nightclub which doesn’t close until 3am on a Friday and Saturday. We were kept awake by the base and then by people leaving once the club was closed. Not ideal and something to be aware of if you are planning a weekend stay. In addition neither the hotel bar or restaurant were available on the Friday we stayed due to private functions.

Be aware of hidden charges + services no provided
Be aware of hidden charges at this hotel. We paid upfront but at check-in we were charged extra $40 per night due to the "usage of the facilities" ...according to them that amount includes the ACCESS to hotel bars and restaurants... we paid to find out that sadly those services were CLOSED during our stay... the upper floor bar was open only one day and the restaurant and other bar remained closed... but the "facility charge" remained!! We feel robbed

Very NYC-esque. Chic and dark.
Our room had no heat. No glasses. No coffeemaker. The sent someone with a blanket and 4 paper cups. The vibe was chic and NYC-esque (dark and small) it was artistically decorated.

Nice design & location, but request a high floor
We stayed at the Feeehand for one night while in the city for a show. We were pleased when the hotel was able to check us in as soon as we arrived at 9am. Unfortunately, the room they gave us was on the third floor. We didn't realize this was an issue until that night when the room was vibrating and we could hear the thumping music and bass from the bar/club below. The music lasted until after 3am, which made for a very unrestful night. Overall the hotel design is nice and location is good. If you stay, I'd insist on a room on a higher floor to avoid the misfortune we had. Was definitely not worth the price for a sleepless night.
