Great location in old town, right near the waterfront and the Royal palace. Lots of fun shops and restaurants just minutes away. Hotel is a bit of a maze. Good breakfast. Tiny shower but that seems the norm in much of Europe.

Great location

I booked this location based on the location and free breakfast, and it did not disappoint. The location was great- walkable to the palace, boat taxi, and bus line. The Public transportation was great! The breakfast was delicious. My only hold backing was that this hotel has no ac and we were on the 1st floor- so we didn’t get much of a breeze through the windows Otherwise it was a great stay!!!

We had a beautiful room with corner windows and a view of the water on the third floor. The breakfast was amazing each day with a large variety of fresh food to choose from. The staff was very helpful and accommodating with a few things that we requested. The location is great and easy walking everywhere. It was nice to have an elevator for our luggage. I chose the Hotel Gamla Stan primarily for it's location, and it was wonderful! The staff was extremely helpful, our room was lovely and comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing. We were just down the street from the palace, across the road from the water, close to all the charming shops as well as NK, and a short walk to the Opera House. It took me nearly 30 years to return to Stockholm, and I can't wait to go back again!
