Children under 10 were in the hot tub so we could not enjoy the hot tubs. The rooms were hot and they did not have the AC’s running. The hotel smelled of weed and cigarettes. The atrium cafe menu stated they served from 11:30-9:30, went down there to order food at 9 and they already closed the kitchen down.

Loved that this hotel was right on the beach. We did not have a view or nice weather but it was great to walk right over to beach. Check in was easy. Staff was casual. Friendly but not welcoming friendly. Some areas of hotel are outdated but they made up for it with cleanliness. We had a view and balcony to the inside pool/bar area, which it looked like everyone did. Food in bar area was enough. Staff there excellent. We would definitely stay here again. The selling points are right on beach and the inside pool area with animals, bar, arcade.

When we first got there we had to change rooms because the toilet seat was not clean. When I got to the second room I noticed that the pillow case on one of the pillows was dirty. Then in the bathroom I noticed that one of the hand towels was not clean. Other than that the room was nice and clean. The WiFi kept going out. The food was very good at the restaurant in the hotel and the workers were very nice.

Quirky hotel on the beach!

This quirky, dated, but loveable hotel hosts a menagerie of tropical birds, lizards and fish in an atrium along with an indoor hot tub, pool and tiki bar. The hotel is probably not far off of a major renovation. The kitchenette rooms, while completely functional, are a little tardy. The rooms are spacious and we really enjoyed watching the sunrise from our balcony. Ample parking and walkable to the best sunset spot in OC. A value beachfront stay away from the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk!
