Luna Palace
This hotel/resort was very reasonable. Luna Palace is close to 2 other Palace locations so that you can get a little variety. The ktichenette was ok as the heating elements did not get very hot. Close to a lot of great food for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Poor 2.0
Not worth the price
The hotel is old and worn out. The room was dirty and the beds were uncomfortable. The AC was also as old as the facility and sounded like a loud motor. The sound made it hard to sleep and impossible to sleep with the unit off because of the heat. The only positive was the location right on the beach. The staff was also not very friendly. I would never stay there again or recommend to anyone.

Average hotel with spacious suites
Negatives: Hotel needs an uplift. Not very clean room, garbage bin left full from past guests, stained sheets and curtains. Door wouldn’t close properly. Very noisy neighbors and hotel didn’t do much about it when reported in the middle of the night. Extremely loud Air Conditioning that would never turn off when temp reached, had to manually turn off. Positives: Great location and very nice beach. Nice pool. Very spacious and good suite layout. Comfortable beds. Nice views.

Buffet staff needs training
Everything was great and everyone was friendly except the woman who greets you at the buffet. Our stay included breakfast and we were given writsbands at the front desk for entry into buffet. When we arrived at the restaurant the woman in the front acted as if she had never seen these writsbands in her life. Instead of being polite and making nf a quick call to the front desk, she started questioning us very rudely to the point where it made a scene. "Where did you get these? How much did you pay for these? I've never seen these..." She made us feel as if we were running a scam so I walked out before I raised my voice and stooped to her level. You would think everyone was on the same page with the wristbands since they all work at the same hotel, right? Anyhow, one of the managers noticed the commotion and ran to the front desk to clarify the situation. Heoffered his apologies once we realized what was happening , but I had lost my appetite by then. Went again the following day and woman didnt even offer an apology. I made sure to tip everyone around her as I always reward good service. Overall, this place is a great value, great hotel, has a great location, and a great staff (except one obviously). I would consider staying here again.....

Perfect for my liking
This was my second stay at Luna Palace. Friendly Check in Staff that greet you daily. Very impressive Lifeguard name Jessie. I saw him from morning until 9 pm not only watching the pool but the people in the Ocean. He knew perfect English.

Lots of renovations going on at the property, which is good, but workers start early ( 8:00 am) not so good. The internet service ONLY works in public areas, and is spotty at best, and the TV options are very limited ( meaning limited English or US stations if that is important to you.) Pool area nice, quiet and relaxing. A hot tub would be a nice addition to the property. Only Mazatlan hotel I’ve ever checked into that they required full payment the check in day, plus a deposit for incidentals. Defiantly pressure to attend their timeshare presentations.
