Area was fine in the day, busy with lots of fast food and popular shops nearby. At night, however, it was heaving with stag-dos and rowdy groups, as the clubs and stripclubs opened. I found this intimidating as a solo female.
Room was larger than expected with a comfy bed and lots of storage. The ensuite was clean and the shower was lovely.
The window faced a blank wall, so there was no view and limited daylight.
The room hadn’t been cleaned well, it was dusty and there was dirt and debris on the floor around the bed. A previous guest had also left open milk in the fridge.
The room was missing a few key items, including a security lock on the door (?!), a kettle and mug (despite the pile of teabags found in a desk drawer, pictured) and a breakfast service card. The minibar was empty in addition to this. No plug sockets near the bed. No English language entertainment channels on the TV.
There was one thin pillow provided, I would have preferred two personally.
There was a loud electrical buzz constantly, which kept me awake on the first night. I unplugged the TV and fridge to try and resolve but was not successful.
The walls were also very thin and I could hear a lot of noise from other rooms; talking and music, phones going on, morning alarms, footsteps and beds creaking.
I arrived for breakfast around 9:30am, there wasn’t much left but I was able to scrape together a few items like bread, cheese and meat. Scrambled egg was available but was extremely watery.
