With one other exception (a hotel across from the UN at 44th), the location of Club Wyndham simply cannot be beat if you are doing business at or near the U.N.. it is steps away from Grand Central.
HOWEVER, beware of their extremely aggressive and frankly obnoxious marketing. This location is a property of Wyndham timeshare. So, our entire 4-day stay here we were constantly HOUNDED by the timeshare salesperson, who parked themselves downstairs in front of the only elevator. Every time we left or returned to our room, they would very aggressively corner us to see when we would have time for a 30-minute timeshare presentation. The hotel shares the contact information of its guests with any sham timeshares, so we would even receive aggressive phones calls after we left the hotel and were away in business meetings at the U.N. I felt amharrassed the entire time I was there. This type of aggressive timeshare marketing really should be illegal (especially the sharing of guests’ contact information). And clearly from a business and hospitality perspective, this type of aggressive salesmanship is not going to encourage hotel guests to return—certainly mot this one.
Aside from the trauma feeling unsafe leaving and returning to my hotel room, the accommodations themselves were quite convenient. The public facilities are rather sparse, though I understand they are abiut to embark on a comprehensive upgrade.
