I can tell that the owners are putting in real effort to make this place great - it’s well-equipped, clean, and thoughtfully designed. However, there's a significant downside: the noise. The hotel is situated near a pedestrian area and a nightclub, where crowds gather late into the night, making it extremely noisy. People were drinking, shouting, and singing outside, which made it impossible for me to sleep. My smart watch showed only 45 minutes of sleep on my first night (!!!).
As I was in Montreal for work, I couldn't afford to go sleepless, so I ended up booking another hotel for my second night. When I returned for the remaining nights, it was slightly better, but I was relieved to check out.
There were two additional issues:
1. The AC unit leaked a substantial amount of water, and although the staff placed a towel to catch it, the amount of water made this solution inadequate. A basin would have been more appropriate.
2. While the curtains are marketed as blackout, they are much too narrow to cover the windows fully, allowing a lot of light to seep in around the edges.
Overall, I would only recommend this hotel if you’re a heavy sleeper or not bothered by external noise.
