We enjoyed our stay in the palatial upper corner room 6, with a lovely view of the monastery and its vineyard!
The receptionist was extremely cheerful and helpful, making sure we were well advised on everything from how to operate locks on the older doors and safe, to assisting us with reservations and with a voucher for a free drink at a monastery restaurant with a splendid city view!
We were also delighted that the hotel was such a short downhill walk from the Porodurec tram station serviced by the #22 and #25 lines, so at the end of a long day of sightseeing, there is a simple and very inexpensive option to hop on a tram to take you uphill and close to the hotel. The bonus is that you can pass the small bodega on the left (even smaller on right) side of the street to purchase water or treats at non-tourist prices!
If you are arriving by car, park briefly to unload bags and get directions to the parking available at a reduced rate at a nearby hotel a few minutes walk away. Though the receptionist did provide me with a map and instructions on how to get there, it is a driveway that would be easy to miss for most drivers new to the area. As you approach the hotel, which is on the corner, you will see the driveway, right on the corner, resembling a pedestrian walkway, and not much wider.
