A great location near the start of an exciting trip up the Gorges du Tarn, this hotel is situated right on the river. A large part of it was rebuilt in a very modern style after a fire destroyed one of the old structures. The owner is personable, speaks English, and supervises the kitchen, which turns out excellent dishes. There are great views from all rooms and from both the indoor and outdoor terrace, looking across the gorge, up to limestone peaks that tower over the hotel. Decent parking is available, but watch out for traffic on the main road. Also, there are a few steps down to the lounge and then again up to the lift. No great inconvenience, but there was some harrumphing as our suitcases bounced down and up the steps.
