The actual hotel is idyllically situated in a gorgoues cotswold village location, the venue offers a lovely bar and dining experience as well as a more formal dining room ... and that for us is where the loveliness began and ended. With the cost of things the way they are in this current day, we accept that nothing is cheap anymore and at best, trying to get value for your money is a struggle to say the least. So, we paid our £120 for a double room (Not inc breakfast) and whilst the rooms was okay, it was certainly in need for some TLC to say the least. To fair, it was clean(ish) and the bed was comfortable but again, thats where the good ends. The decor is beyond tired, the bathroom was really shabby (indluding a dented bin and a horrible plastic wall mounted hand pump), the bedding and furnishing is in great need of replacing and the television and remote (that was held together with sellotape) simply needs removing, binning & replacing.
Our overall stay was nice enough but I'd rather have paid a little more and recieved a little more.
I guess it just about does what it says on the tin. How ever, marketing as a wedding venue is questionable... when spending any money these days you really do want to feel the guest is the priority.
