Great little motel!
Really friendly and helpful staff, unit was super clean, beds were comfortable. The little pool was great for our kids to blow off some steam after a long travel day. We were able to walk a short distance to get dinner, and it's just a little longer of a walk to get to the beach and an incredible playground. Highly recommend!

Excellent Property
We were in a twin studio unit: 701 One Queen, one single. Parking right out front, swimming pool and guest laundry. The room was like brand new, kitchen all up do date and well provisioned. Excellent, modern bathroom. Some of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. Everything was clean and immaculate. Friendly staff too.

Probably the best "old school" motel I've stayed in. Would definitely ask for room 710 again - nice and spacious with a great shower. Really comfy bed with nice bedding for the cooler South Island nights. Great location for young families with a short walk to Tahuna beach and all of its child friendly entertainment and beautiful sand.

Great little gem close to the beach.
It was a busy time and my hotel choice was made at this point in a hurry. But I am glad I picked Balmoral. Great location, 5 min to the beach and max 10 to restaurants. Amazing walk to town, it is an hour long but great views and totally worth it. The room was spacious and clean. Basic necessities. It's a motel, not a hotel, so you need to get your breakfast, but the awesome lady that the front desk can get something if you ask the night before. She was very welcoming and friendly throughout my stay. Totally recommend.
