if you need a cheap room, goto the sandman instead

i thought i was booking a room at a nice 4 star hotel with log cabins. i was a bit confused by how cheap it was. the room i actually ended up with felt like it was a reno-ed high end jail cell rather than a motel. the tub could not hold water and the lights in the bath room could only stay on if there was a fan on or if this horribly obnoxious egg timer was going. i got what i paid for but damn this was a disappointment. should have been advertised as a separate 1 star hotel rather than wrapping it up with the 4 star. i wont say i was robbed or mislead but what i got was not even remotely close to my expectations. very dissapointed.

After a kayak trip on Murtle Lake, the bed was super comfortable and the water was hot. The beer was cold and the food good at the onsite restaurant. Very good one night stay.

Resort atmosphere but since it’s off season I had the place to myself basically.

Room not as advertised on hotels.com!!

I was really disappointed the pictures that were shown on hotels.com where of the lodge and the cabins and all the beautiful log work and gorgeous rooms, when I got there, I was told my room was across the highway at another part of the hotel was a very old part of the hotel. It was more of a motel than any type of resort and every time I opened the door to go out to my car for any reason The mosquitoes were so bad and when I got there, my room was full of mosquitoes. I must’ve killed at least 30 of them when I arrived that must’ve got in when the cleaners were doing the room. It’s not that the room was dirty. It’s that the room was old. It was not comfortable. It just was not what I was expecting because the pictures that were shown were absolutely beautiful and the motel across the street was not. Be sure if you book at this hotel/resort that you find out first where they will be placing you and if they say that you’ll be staying at the property across the highway from the resort, depending on what you’re expecting, I would say don’t do it. It is well kept but it has seen better days and the mosquitoes that were in my room were not fun. I spent the night chasing a buzzing sound so that I could get some sleep. I left there with multiple mosquito bites. I don’t usually leave bad reviews because I read the reviews and they were great and I looked at all the pictures and they were awesome but this was like night and day from what I booked. I wish I was told about!!!!!

Nestled in the mountains of Blue River. Nice property with walking trail to Eleanor Lake. The cabins are beautiful and staff are friendly and helpful. Going in the fall had a disengaging, the restaurant closed the week before and not all rooms have the outdoor hot tub. This is primarily catering to heli skiers so there are a number of heli pads on the property. It gets very dark at night here so the stars were bright abs beautiful. Wood burning fireplace was a bonus. Highly recommend this place.

The room seemed clean, but there was an overwhelming cigarette scent. The room was small but had everything you needed. Maybe we got unlucky and got a room where there were a lot of smokers, but it just made the whole room feel a little dingy and unclean from the smell. The Saddle restaurant was really good, good sized portions and very tasty! Not sure I’d stay here again but I would stop into the restaurant for sure.

They fail to tell you that their “basic” room is not on the main property but actually in a crappy motel across the highway. They also do not tell you / advertise that in summer, the lodge facilities are effectively closed, no dining room or lounge, no hot tub or workout centre access. Totally misleading.
