The staff at the restaurants were AMAZING especially Jose at the Italian place he was AMAZING! At check in I felt pressured into trying to sign up for a tour I had just got to the hotel I had to pay extra for other things that didn’t make sense to me at all I was annoyed by that and on top of it the guy who was trying to pressure us to doing a tour didn’t take into consideration I was just trying to get to my room and be able to have lunch, the room was nice but they need to fix maintenance things they try to blame the people staying there for things that were ALREADY broken. My stay was definitely just a one time stay.

You get what you pay for at this hotel. They offered very few activities. Despite the very few guests, the hotel’s focus was catering to the VIP time share guests. Seats with a view at the restaurants were not accessible even though they were empty. They offer different menus for different guests. You cannot take food back to the room to eat. The electricity went out in the room and it was fixed the next day. The water pipes made a loud noise after flushing the toilet. The blanket in the room was dirty and smelled musty. One of rooms did not have hot water. The food was mediocre and everyone in the family got sick. Would not recommend.

The property was nice and clean; I enjoyed the infinity pool facing and looking towards the ocean. I disliked the food. It was bland and bare, and I expected a better variety and quality.

Very disappointed with many little things that made a huge impact. Let's start with the fact that they attmepted to give us a double bed. Once in our correct room we found our A.C to not work properly. Thankfully it wasn't too hot so we just opened the slider. The food options were dissapointing making some of our group sick. Some of the food looked recycled and under cooked or over cooked, which I belive is what made most sick. The pools and spa were nice however they are not heated pools. The spas were not working so some were cold and had no jets or had luke warm water. The staff was nice and most areas clean but there was also nobody there not to give great service. Some of the complaints from our family in their rooms were no hot water, no electicity at times and also the A.C. Not great music, no entertainment at night! The resort has lots of potential and in a great location so hope they get it figured out!

This was our fourth visit to the GR Solaris Lighthouse, but our first after they purchased it from the Barcelo Gran Faro. The pools, restaurants, bars and housekeeping staff are all amazing! We experienced some facility issues, but they were all handled gratefully by the resort manager Jose Luis and Fernanda. We thank them for their kindness! A special thank you to Jorge (pool bar services), food servers Carina, Odalis and Bruno. The restaurant supervisor David and the young lady who greeted us at the Solaris Buffet door were also fabulous. We were quite disappointed that Irene was relocated from the pool snack bar to being a cook at the Solaris Buffet, as we were not able to enjoy her pleasant personality and great service. PLEASE CONSIDER BRINGING HER BACK TO THE POOL SNACK AREA!

My Wife and I were looking for a destination for our honeymoon and came across GR Solaris lighthouse. At first, we were skeptical to book it due to some of the other reviews we read, but ultimately decided to give it a shot and boy are we happy we did. Upon arrival, we were greeted we extreme professionalism and hospitality! The bellhop staff was quick to greet and guide us to the front office. The front office staff was extremely accommodating and flexible with the small amount of Spanish we knew. Once checked in, we met with one of the hotel reps, Francisco. His degree of communication, friendliness, attentiveness, and professionalism is among the best I’ve ever experienced! He had an answer to every question, and a solution to every challenge! If you go, ask for him and he will ensure that you’re well taken care of! The property was beautiful! The gardens were tended to every day. The pools, although were a bit chilly, were always clean. The wait staff were top notch! Shout out to Luis for always ensuring that we had a tasty beverage in hand! The entertainment (DJ and activities staff) always had fun music and games going on. They were led by Enrique and Sebastian, who were extremely engaging and charismatic. There was always fun to be had at the pools because of them. The food options always kept us fed! The buffets always had great options for every taste! Our personal favorite was breakfast for its diverse options and a perfect view of the beach.

Stayed Oct 22-30, 2024. It was off-season and the place was pretty empty (nice), one building was completely dark. Everything was available, though. Food is buffet style--not amazing, but good enough with plenty of dishes to choose from and service was great. DJ at the pool. Place was very clean, but one elevator in our bldg didn't work and none of the ice machines worked. They should take the ice signs down. Hotel is located right on the beach, on the Sea of Cortez side of Baja, but in an area not near anything so if you want to go anywhere, you will have to figure it out yourself and arrange transportation. We booked this trip through Expedia who offered no transportation from the airport to the hotel, but we found a company and arranged private transportation to/from the hotel. We went on an ATV excursion through Real Baja Tours which was a blast, but it took us about an hour and 10 minutes to get to the ATV beaches on the Pacific side (but well worth it). This hotel is far from Cabo San Lucas, but you have peace and quite here. Beaches in this area are big and uncrowded. We were warned to stay out of the ocean due to a strong undertow, but I went in up to my calves with no problems--warmest ocean I've ever been in. We saw a large sea turtle lay eggs in the sand, bury them, and return to the sea. Saddled horses are brought to the beach daily and are ready to ride anytime of day. There are ladies providing massages on the beach, as well.

It was the quiet time of year, and the resort is under new ownership. So there weren’t many people there. But the resort was clean, the food was good, and the pools were open and available. The staff was exceptional and went above and beyond to make the week fun. Luis and Enrique made every day by the pool super enjoyable. We will absolutely come back again!

The front desk staff was terrible. The resort was had changed ownership and I was notified and did the proper changes that was needed to be done. I got to the resort and my reservations were canceled with no notification. The front desk staff (manager Jerusalem) was not trying to accommodate me the price I was locked into before the changes. All he kept saying was he could give me a room but it was a standard at a cheap price. I ended up coming to Expedia and getting the room I orginally reserved cheaper than what Jerusalem was offering me.

Do Not Stay Here!
The resort is in dire need of a top-to-bottom renovation or a full redevelopment. It may have been a luxurious resort at one point, but it is old, dated, and not maintained well. The front desk staff were rude and off putting, making me feel undesired from the moment I arrived through the moment I checked out. They were non-accommodating, didn’t provide any information on the amenities, and were dismissive to any concerns brought to their attention. Don’t be fooled by the attractive prices, as there are fees and penalties at every step - if you lose your towel card, your wristband, your room key, etc, you will be charged upwards of $50 USD each for replacement. Even though it is advertised as “all inclusive,” there are service fees at every step for amenities such as room service. The room was serviceable at best, with unreliable water pressure, calcium buildup around plumbing fixtures, and no information provided for ordering room service. On the one occasion I was able to successfully order room service, I had to walk down to the front desk (because the don’t answer the phone) where I was read the menu over the front desk phone (because there is no physical menu). The food that arrived was inedible, I took one bite, threw the rest away, and went to sleep hungry. This is after spending $10 on the “service fee” to have it brought to my room. Overall a terrible experience. The only positive comment is that the cleaning staff did a great job with my room each day.

They just got the property on the 1st of October. The property needs a lot of work. The pools were in need of a lot of work with cracked/ broken tiles. The swim up had really cloudy, brownish water. The floats in the pool had a green film. No excuse, there were literally less than 20 people staying at the resort. We did see the infinity pool getting chlorinated so hit that one up. Bars/ lounges were closed. Service (edgar at the buffet) was excellent. We did do the presentation but still awaiting our vouchers for future travel 3 days, later...

This place is terrible. It was once a great resort, but now it’s just gone down hill. They only have a buffet their specialty restaurants were closed and the lighthouse tower closed as well. AC in the room constantly going out and they wouldn’t change the room for me. Go some place else. The front desk staff are horrible as well. I was trying to talk to general manager and the front desk staff kept lying about his whereabouts. I’m hoping to get some sort of compensation for this terrible service.

2/10 Poor

The property itself isn't terrible, but the resort is super restrictive and food options are limited. It's pretty much bedtime for everyone at 10pm. The bars close down, no food available and the pool is shut down around 7pm nightly. I would not stay at this property again if they offered it for free. I would much get my money's worth at a much better resort that makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. The rooms were clean but the water barely got warm. I complained to the front desk and it got just a bit warmer (enough to finally have steam on the mirror I'M NOT EVEN EXAGGERATING ONE BIT). Don't misplace your key card that will be a $40 charge. I was with a large group of about 50 people and they made all of us feel like we were a unconvinience to them. NEVER WILL I STAY AT THIS PROPERTY AGAIN!! The light tower club/restaurant was closed the entire time.
