Safe area but hotel is out of date, old mattresses

The area is safe but the terrible mattress feels way overused and in serious need of replacement. The bedsheets had too much stained on them. This hotel is in serious need of updating.

2/10 Poor

The room was ok on first glance and they allowed me to have a late check in since my flight was delayed, that was a huge help. But I paid specifically for an upgraded room with a window and did not get that. But when I stepped in the shower the first thing I noticed was the black mold everywhere, smell of urine, and rusty broken showerhead. After such a long flight I just wanted to be clean so I started to shower and that's when I saw a HUGE cockroach. Trapped it with the toothbrush tray, rinsed off, got dressed and went to get the desk staff who killed it very fast! Then I checked the rest of the room, mattress clearly had signs of bed bugs, they must've been trying to hide it since it was wrapped in 3 sheets. Same with the pillows. In fact while checking the mattress I found a pack of condoms, ew. At this point I'll only be there for a few hours so I stayed, slept in the wooden arm chair, and left quickly in the morning. Not a place I'd recommend, but the staff was nice. Tough first day on the trip!
