Charged to use pool, showers didn't work
Nice location but perhaps a bit dilapidated in places. They didn't have coffee in the rooms (only decaf / tea), presumably on purpose to encourage you to purchase. They also charged us to use the pool facilities, and none of the showers or water worked!

Think twice before staying here
This hotel is more a cross between conference accommodation and basic student accommodation. The rooms and gym are very run down. Even though there seemed to be plenty of staff, none were really available to help with ordering drinks or food, and unfortunately a couple were quite rude. If you’re thinking of staying, please read the reviews.

Okay, wouldn’t be rushing to stay again.
Greeting was lovely, and spa and pool was nice, but the rooms need serious attention.

Nice hotel, staff need training, very willing.
Ideal location for Stratford. Hotel rooms clean and functional. Dinner was a challenge, the food was excellent but the front of house staff were very limited in training and had to be chased constantly for everything. Checkin became complicated and the manager had to step in, just more training required throughout

OK, but not great
Looks great online but a bit shabby and rundown in places. The room was cold with damp marks on the walls. Not worth the money. Breakfast average at best, low quality food that you may expect from a Mercure. Spa run down and dated

Disappointed
The accommodation was disappointing the rooms were basic. Did not expect a double room to have two single beds pushed together !
The blocks of rooms resemble basic student accommodation
The food was reasonable and dining room staff helpful
The Spa was good and Tom on reception was extremely helpful and his attitude greatly improved our stay .

Lovely peaceful surroundings. Parts of the hotel were noticeably better than others. Staff were very good, bar and dining in particular. Room was very hot, with no air conditioning, and no window to help. I would stay again but only with an upgraded room.

The grounds and Walton hall are amazing but the beds are like a slab of concrete, we ended up sleeping on the lounge even though we had a 2 bedroom apartment

Nice location, needs a bit of tlc though
Lovely location, lovely setting. The hotel was nice, but could do with a bit of a refresh. The door in our bathroom had obviously got wet and was pealing. I'd stay here again, but not at the full rate.
