Albaicín
Albaicín's winding cobblestone streets take you straight back to medieval Moorish Granada. This UNESCO World Heritage site delights with whitewashed houses, hidden gardens, and those jaw-dropping Alhambra views from Mirador de San Nicolás. Duck into traditional teahouses for mint tea or discover ancient Arab baths tucked between craft workshops selling ceramics and textiles. Tapas bars and Moroccan restaurants offer free starters with drinks, while intimate flamenco venues create magical evenings. Most exploring happens on foot due to narrow medieval pathways, though minibuses connect to the city centre. Boutique hotels in converted historic carmenes provide authentic stays with spectacular panoramic views.

Realejo-San Matias
Realejo-San Matias serves up medieval magic in every cobblestone alley. This former Jewish quarter of Granada boasts well-preserved architecture, secret garden-filled homes, and the fascinating Casa de los Tiros museum. Wander through Campo del Príncipe plaza where locals sip wine on sunny terraces. History buffs can explore Moorish walls and the stunning Cuarto Real de Santo Domingo with its peaceful courtyards. Cosy tapas bars tucked into historic buildings offer authentic Andalusian dishes at reasonable prices. Most attractions in Granada are just a 15-20 minute walk away, though the steep streets are best navigated on foot. Boutique hotels in converted historic buildings provide charming accommodation options with plenty of local character.

Centro - Sagrario
Centro-Sagrario's cobblestone streets weave through Granada's historic heart, where the magnificent Cathedral and Royal Chapel stand as testaments to Spain's golden age. Explore the Moorish-influenced architecture, duck into the Alcaicería's narrow bazaar streets, or people-watch at Plaza Bib-Rambla with its ornate fountains. The well-preserved Corral del Carbón offers a glimpse into 14th-century Islamic design that history buffs will love. The area buzzes with traditional tapas bars where drinks come with free small plates of local specialities. Boutique hotels in converted palaces and convents provide authentic Andalusian charm. Most attractions are within easy walking distance on pedestrianised streets, though cobblestones call for comfortable shoes.

Sacromonte
Perched on a hillside above Granada, Sacromonte captivates with its unique cave dwellings carved into the rocky terrain. This historic Roma enclave vibrates with the soul-stirring sounds of authentic flamenco performances held in intimate cave venues. Visitors can explore the fascinating Sacromonte Abbey or learn about traditional gypsy culture at the Cuevas del Sacromonte Museum while enjoying spectacular views of the Alhambra. Winding cobblestone paths lead to family-run tapas bars serving local specialities in this walkable area. The limited bus service means comfortable shoes are essential for navigating the steep terrain. Cave hotels offer unique accommodation with modern amenities and traditional charm for travellers seeking an authentic cultural experience.

Granada City Center
Granada's historic centre offers a dazzling time-travel experience through centuries of Andalusian history. The stunning Alhambra palace complex dominates the hillside with intricate Islamic tilework, while the Renaissance Cathedral anchors the city below. Wander the medieval Albaicín quarter's cobblestone streets lined with whitewashed houses and hidden courtyards that serve up jaw-dropping views of the Sierra Nevada. Getting around this pedestrian paradise is a breeze with most attractions within walking distance. Treat yourself to legendary free tapas with every drink order in Plaza Bib-Rambla or Calle Navas. Stay in charming boutique hotels housed in converted historic buildings, many featuring rooftop terraces with perfect Alhambra views.

Honest Hotel Granada

Hotel Alhambra Palace
"Beautifully appointed room. My one issue was the bidet wasn't working. We stayed one night only so there was no point asking to fix it."
Sercotel Palacio De Los Gamboa
"Great location and the staff were great!"
Hotel Macià Granada Five Senses Rooms & Suites
"Very nice hotel that is central to everything such as The Alhambra, restaurants, shopping, anything and everything you might need. The staff were extremely helpful in providing useful tips. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!"
Hotel Los Angeles, Granada
"We stayed in a spacious family room for 9 nights. It was nice to have space for 4 people. The room was cleaned daily and was spotless. The maids do an excellent job. The hotel has a traditional Spanish feel to it which we liked. Lots of statues and a grand staircase next to reception. It’s light and spacious with lots of places to sit and watch the world go by. Breakfast was perfect. Lots of free tables and it was never crowded. Lots of options for cold and warm food. Everything replenished in good time so you don’t have to wait for anything. Several juices and coffee are offered as well as various types of milk inc lactose free and milkshakes. You can eat inside the restaurant or outside on a small terrace which was nice. A nice pool that is big enough to cool down in. Sun beds and recliner deck chairs around the pool. There are meals available for lunch at the poolside. Food and drink was fairly priced. The staff throughout the hotel are friendly and helpful. They work hard but always have time to be pleasant to the guests. The location is excellent. A shop and bar within a few hundred metres and the edge of Centro only a pleasant 10 minute walk. The city is buzzing both in the day and of an evening. The Alhambra is a 15-20 minute walk. Allow yourself a bit of extra time as it’s an uphill walk. If walking isn’t your thing, taxis are fairly priced and there is a small bus up to the Alhambra which is well worth a visit. Overall it was a fantastic experience."
Melia Granada Hotel
"Best hotel ever!"
Hotel Andalucia Center
"Everything was 5star Highly recommended"
