I'm not a fan of seaside towns, but Scarborough struck me as cleaner than others; the public spaces were well maintained & cared for. A fair bit to see and do and a good shopping centre. The locals were very friendly and obviously loved their town.

We've always avoided Scarborough based on past impressions - mainly from brief seafront visits. We were pleased to have rediscovered the resort. Lots to see and do including seafront walks, gardens, the old town, castle, and harbour

The seafront at Scarborough makes us feel like we've gone back in time, particularly when it is busy. The mixture of fishing boats and pleasure boats in the harbour, then a lovely beach that you step onto from the pavement.

Traditional English seaside resort. Beautiful views from the cliffs over two bays and castle. Interesting Victorian architecture. Town gardens and parks beautifully maintained. Excellent fish and chips.

Scarborough is called the Queen of the Yorkshire Coast for a good reason. Nowhere else can match the views, the amenities, the food, or the beautiful sea

Beautiful location with 2 lovely bays north and south and a castle on the headland in between. Sadly not too much going on out of season with lots of places closed altogether or on limited opening hours, some good eating places still open.

There lots of things to like about Scarborough. The beaches, sea views, castle, access to the moors, good dining options and the sea wall pathway.

"The room and view was amazing
Room was absolutely beyond and above aspectations .
Every extremely clean but only sugestions was that windows was not very Clean.
I understand that pigeons have already their places and is hard to maintained but it just too fantastic view and windows could be a little bit more clean "
"Lovely designed rooms, felt very expensive and a touch of elegance too with bath salts robes etc…
Situated in a beautiful village with a lot of history, convenient to Scarborough too, a 40 min walk or a 4 minute drive away from the north side coast. "
"I stayed at the Bike & Boot Hotel in Scarborough as a solo traveller and couldn’t have felt more welcome. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and perfect for someone exploring on their own. The staff were approachable and helpful without being overbearing, which made checking in and settling down really easy.
The location is spot on—right between the beach and town centre—so everything is within walking distance. I spent my days exploring the coastline and came back each afternoon to free cake and coffee in the lounge, which was a lovely touch.
My room was clean, bright, and modern, with a super comfortable bed and a great sea view. The smart TV with Netflix was great for quiet evenings in. I also loved the adventure-friendly extras like secure bike storage, boot/dog washing stations, and the chilled-out guest cinema room.
The Bareca restaurant was ideal for solo dining—casual but good quality. I have dietary restrictions and was genuinely impressed they sourced gluten-free bread just for me.
This hotel has a lot of character, and it caters really well to independent travellers. It felt safe, welcoming, and interesting—everything you want when travelling solo. I’d absolutely return."
"It was just me and my son for an overnight stay. I hadn't paid for a sea view room and ended up with a large corner ensuite room with free tea/coffee,(Kettle). When we left the room the door wouldn't lock so went to reception to report it,in the meantime I went to get my car as I'd got a space in the hotel car park (very limited spaces £6.00 for the night).Back at the hotel they gave us another room a sea view with no extra charge. The following morning we had a buffet breakfast, (which was very nice),with the dining room looking out to sea and the bay.I definitely would stop there again. "
