Love this place except for the noise.
I love self-check in machine on the first floor it was quick and easy. My room on the 25th floor was awesome with a good view of the empire state building. It was quiet and I had good sleep. After I week they moved me to the 15th floor because they were going to renovate the entire 25th floor. My new room wasn't so great. It was noisy. I could hear when someone was taking a shower in the middle of the night or when someone closed their door, my door made noises too. I woke up alot during the night. I talked to the lady at the front desk she was very nice and tried to help me. she said she could move me down to the 10th floor with the city view but she was not sure if the noise will be better because the lower i get the more i have people above me. So I stayed in that same room for entire week. I wasn't happy like i was on the first week. Except for the noise, I really like this place. It's close to the restaurants and subway. I might stay here again in the future.

Yotel is no bargain!
I booked my stay through Hotels.com and paid $281 for 2 nights. Once we arrived at Yotel, you are dire ted to check in at the computers waiting for you. Though rhe hotel was not busy because of the Coronavirus, you are still charged $30 for early check in. Additionally, ypu are charged $50 per night as a deposit and $40.16 per night as a service fee. So, my $281 quickly turned into $360! The first night we couldn't sleep because there was a high pitched sound coming from behind the bathroom wall. In fact, I had to open the window and let in street noise just so we wouldn't hear the noise as loudly. We did inform the front desk the next morning and were only offered an apology. Because of the situation in NYC, we checked out a day ealier at 4:45 with the room the same as left by house keeping. However, still charged the full night for the room. Upon returning to my home and checking my bank statement, I noticed the $100 deposit charge and another charge for $24. I called 3 times to address with a promise that a manager would call me back, which never happened. Based on the totality of the cost to stay there when you add the other fees and the experience I had, I will never stay at Yotel again.

Convenient Location, Small but comfortable rooms
This hotel is in a convenient location within walking distance of Times Square, Penn Station (train station), the Port Authority Bus Station, and Hudson Yards. The rooms are small (although they have maximized the room space well), clean, comfortable and quiet. The communal spaces are nice, check in kiosks make it easy to check in and they have secure lockers to store your luggage. The value for the money was good. I would definitely stay here again.

Unimpressed
Lots of hassle with TV and heating not working, while maintenance staff were great when they came to help, reception desk staff were often not, and sometimes rude. Carpet in room wasn't fully clean - I think due to poor room design with nooks and crannies - and many fittings were old, stained and shabby looking. There was even a small hole in the wall where the TV was mounted. Not the hotel I was expecting from the ratings here. As for pros, location is good for Hell's Kitchen and Time's Square.

Modern & Unique
YOTEL was great! The rooms are small but are the right size if travelling by yourself, or with one other person. My room in particular had a great view looking downtown towards Hudson Yards and the shower was fantastic. It is a quick walk from Penn Station and there is a ton of restaurants, bars, etc.. nearby to eat and/or drink at. Would definitely recommend this for people who don't mind a small room and are looking for something more modern and unique.

Good 6.0
Not really recommended
The room was very small, I did not notice that it was a "micro" hotel until afterwards. The biggest thing was the fact that the only thing that separated the toilet from the room was a sliding glass door, it was strange. Then when checking out, we found that there was a $35+ fee for servicing every day.

Not Amsterdam, but Still Wonderful
We loved the stay at the YOTEL in New York. I have previously stayed at the location in Amsterdam and was impressed again at this location. My only qualm with the New York location was it appeared to be not as clean or up-to-date as my previous experience. The TV was older and did not have the connecting capabilities of the other location and there were a few scrapes and scuff marks throughout the room. Other than that I really enjoyed my stay. We had a room with a view at the top floor for a really good price and were even allowed to check in early. I would highly recommend to anyone, but warn those who have stayed at other locations it may not be as nice as the others.

Too Bad About That Hidden Resort Fee
Sad to see the Yotel (one of my fav in NYC) play the game of the resort fee. It makes it very hard to compare true prices on Hotels.com. Otherwise great place, but don't forget to tag along $35 for that resort fee.
