Girls trip in LA
Great stay at the DREAM. Super customer service including the very friendly and attentive front desk. This made check in a breeze. Clean and comfortable rooms. Nice restaurants on site. Beautiful rooftop area where you can see the city and Hollywood sign. Great breakfast at rooftop restaurant. Enjoyed the Beauty Essex restaurant also. Ran into celebrity Evan Ross at our hotel and he was so kind to take selfies with all six of us. We heard Magic Johnson was next door at Tao restaurant. DREAM was located few blocks from the Walk of Fame stars. Other restaurants and stores within walking distances. We did see homeless people on the streets but not too bad during our Memorial weekend stay. The girls and I had a great time as we Uber to Disneyland one day and toured LA on one of the nearby Taste of LA tours.

Just OK for the price range. Location is great.
For the price (over $600-$800 a night), it was OK comparatively to other hotels I have stayed at in that price range. The rooms could have been just a little cleaner, the room views could have been just a little better (I literally looked at an ugly top of a building), the tech could have been a little more modern, but the service was good. The external and lobby esthetic is really nice and the location is great, but again, not sure the rooms themselves were worth the price point. And valet parking was a bit slow.

Luxury hotel nightmare.
This was a most disappointing stay. For the prices at this hotel, you expect much more. The design of the rooms is horrible, choosing fashion over function. Not enough drawers, we had one chair in our room to rest, TV was to the left of the bed instead of the foot. Don't upgrade to a balcony, it is ridiculous. We had them remove the upgrade because it was so small we never even went out there. We went up to the rooftop bar and grill to have a drink at 10pm, and they wouldn't allow us to sit at a table unless we ordered food. The bar was full, but the tables were mostly empty. We were heading out to a concert at the Greek Theatre, and called down to valet for our car. It took almost 50 minutes to get our car. Good thing I had planned to leave extra early. The location is nice, within walking distance of things like Hollywood and Vine, the Walk of Fame and many other things. But we tried to stay out as long as possible so as not to deal with the room. The best thing about the stay was Cesar at the front desk. He help get the upgrade off the bill and helped us with other things. Without him it would have been a disaster.

Shower in room w you
The hang out areas in the lobby were inaccessible due to the extremely heavy perfume smell they cranked thru the AC system there. But more funky was the giant shower that was literally inside the room with us. It had a lame privacy curtain but even that only allowed you to exit the shower into the foyer. When we asked about it, they said “all those doubles are like that” but they were sold out so we couldn’t get a different room. Beware, if you are booking two double beds, makes sure you ask for a room that includes the shower inside the bathroom. The description of room on Hotels.com should include this strange shower formation. Plus the bed wasn’t that comfortable. Overall, this is a three star hotel posing as a four star, and not worth the high prices. We had a crazy expensive drink by the pool and it too was sub par. I don’t mind paying four star prices if you get four star product but this place did not deliver. The service was great though.
