Faulty Towers
Think Faulty Towers, we actually started to laugh at the check in. Run down and old, needs complete reno, the deck was filthy, the garden and grounds are beautiful. Breakfast was stone cold and the promised homemade bread, still imagining this fantasy. Feel like they are trying hard and failing.

Quiet retreat
Lovely hotel. We were upgraded to an upstairs, corner, Premier room, which was very special. Large, very comfortable room, with options to access two balconies. Very comfortable King Bed and large bathroom. Shower over the bath. Did not utilise breakfast there, which would have been $39/person per day. Made pod coffee provided in the room. Very quiet stay. There is no lift, so if you dont manage stairs, request a downstairs room. Staff were very pleasant.

Old and tired, in drastic need of some TLC and maintenance. It may be old but chipped paint, missing tile grout, loose taps, general grubbiness is no excuse. This property is grossly overpriced.

Bye Gone Beauty
This gorgeous building is let down by a single staff member doing his best to serve everyone at reception and the dining room (and explain that the coffee machine was broken). Our garden suite had black mould growing on the bathroom ceiling, a very poor shower and no power points bedside. I fear this beauty may be passed her use by date.

Very disappointing stay, mould on the ceiling in bathroom bath was not connected to plumbing. Service was appalling, we booked high tea at cafe 88 inside the convent the food was atrocious. Very much gone down hill won’t be back. Very overpriced!

6/10 Good

The property and staff are fantastic. Our room smelt nice when opening the door and it was lovely and cool inside thanks to the air conditioning. The place has so much history which we appreciated. On the negative side we were very disappointed after a big day that the restaurant was not operating, plus there was nothing else available to eat or drink. I would have expected coffee and cakes etc at least, but absolutely nothing, so we had to drive elsewhere for dinner. It was a public holiday over the Easter weekend, but really, that’s when people are on holidays to relax and unwind. Sorry for the negative comment and I hope that doesn’t detract others from staying there, but I guess one shouldn’t assume the restaurant will open every day/night so it might pay to check first.
