Very friendly staff, helpful and kind, even learned our names and remember them. Enjoyed that we tried to speak some of their language. The breakfast buffet only on weekends was beyond enjoyable. The staff suggested a private beach, which turned out to be very excellent.

The conditions and cleanliness of the hotel was deplorable! There was no beach as stated and no VIP platinum upgrade whatsoever. The only thing that made it enjoyable was breakfast and then we checked out two days early.

This is the place where I did my proposal in the magical chapel they have in their resort which is kind of like the Crown Jewel of the resort. Absolutely beautiful and magical place this is which has left me in awe! The entire management the rooms, the view, the staff was so kind, friendly and helpful, I am overwhelmed with emotion! Knowing I am doing my proposal here, they even upgraded me to the Ocean View Suite which is honestly the best and the most wonderful suite I’ve ever stayed in. The entire staff, the elegant lady at the reception, the duty manager, Yoga, Ani and a lot of other made our stay so please Ira ke, it’s beyond words. Mr Lufi is a master at photography who took the most wonderful photos of our event so professionally, he should be lauded for it! Mr Dika who processed them and provided me with the photos also another gem of a person. I will run out of people but can’t thank enough of them for this stay at a hidden gem of Bali in Gianyar! Absolute perfection! All our love to Rumah Luwih Bali for making this the most memorable and wonderful trip of our lives!

The staff and room are great. It’s a very nice hotel. This was my first time to Bali and I didn’t really know the different areas. I loved the hotel but the only thing is that it’s in a very quiet location with little to see or do outside the property.

A peaceful, luxurious stay

Such a gem of a hotel- couldn’t have asked for more! A little bit of luxury :) The staff were so welcoming, accommodating and courteous, especially all the servers in the restaurant. The food was exceptional! Loved the infinity pool too, the grounds are kept immaculately. My room was beautiful, plenty of space and lovely design. A wonderful stay.

Great property with swimming pool and beach view. It is far from almost everything. If you want to visit Bali and want to be away from everything and can do with very limited dinning options, this place might be for you. To get around from this property to anywhere around , give yourself a hour of travel time. For our next visit, we will pick somewhere closer to Sanur or Ubud.

Room: We had a suite. The room was beautiful, but not well soundproofed, and most nights the restaurant played loud music. This means that if you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, this is not a good choice of room. Breakfast was small, and most of the dishes looked unappetizing. Many of them were tasteless—the same goes for the lunch and dinner menu. There was also a lack of vegetables to choose from. I can tell they are trying, but for us, it was not enough. Hotel: The hotel needs major renovations. Example some outlets are not fully mounted to the wall, and there are cracks in many places. The restaurant ventilation needs to be cleaned, and the pillows and sofas in the room need washing due to various stains. Staff: A for effort—the staff were super friendly and tried their very best to help us. However, communication failed about 90% of the time. The reception staff lack knowledge of English; using simple English works most of the time. There is one particular staff member at reception (wearing a white traditional dress) who went above and beyond to help us. Without her, our stay would have been a sad story. Overall: This hotel needs massive improvements before it can truly be considered a 5-star hotel.

Not quite the Bali experience you might expect.

The hotel grounds are very beautiful and the view of breaking waves is relaxing. The hotel is 'on the beach' but the beach sand is covered with debris; the hotel bordered by two small rivers with fast water emptying into the ocean so impossible to walk the beach far at all. So, don't think about a long walk on the beach. The breakfast buffet was exceptional. Free use of bikes is unrealistic as the speeding motorbikes, sometimes on the road shoulder make a bike ride unsafe.

Luxury Resort with fantastic view

Amazing peaceful place

It was the most peaceful resort we ever been. Amazing staff and service. Food was great as well. I recommend to all my friends. It is truly hidden gem of bali. Other places were loud and crowded but this hotel was very quiet and peaceful. Only few minutes away from the safari and it was really fun!

Rumah Luwih is a beautiful hidden gem, surrounded by beauty and insane scenery of the beach. It is a special quiet haven away from the busyness of Bali it is a real retreat. Sublimely Excellent

I have travelled across the world for over 50 years and never have i experienced a property of this outstanding quality across every facet of hospitality. The physical characteristics are exceptional; the gracious elegance of the building, the combination of views from the ground floor of the huge lateral pool over looking a lake which over looks the ocean. The quality service by everyone from the large gardening team caring for the beautiful grounds to the housekeeping to the reception to the restaurant staff is simply faultless. The GM , Rajiv Srivastava, must be given the credit as he would have to take the responsibility for any defects. The resort experience was so excellent / relaxing / perfect we never moved out to explore the beauty of Bali. We will return here but next time for longer so we can have another week here.
