6/10 Good

Done the job, but could have chosen better.
I struggle with Boutique hotels, especially having travelled up from a spacious Washington DC hotel before this. Also don't let the bright photo fool you, the road the hotel is down is quite narrow and dark. Check in was quick, service a bit slap dash at times when it comes to bar opening and cafe supplies. A lot of business people having open conference calls in the lounge area with no headphones on, hardly a place to just wind down. No in room hot water or guest drinks station. $6.30 for 2 cups of hot water ??? come on!!! Metro at the end of the road with very good onward links was handy, Cleaning Staff Amazing and one particular lady who was on the front desk Thursday and Friday morning went above and beyond with information and cab bookings, so some good aspects, but given the cost, didn't hit the spot for us visiting for 5 nights as a couple sightseeing.

Great rooms/hotel, lacks storage and no hot drinks
Upsides: Great friendly stay, nice hotel with great staff and very very clean, nice modern simple rooms. Actual room was quite spacious which was surprising considering the very central location. Very easy to get about manhattan from there, including the bus stop around the corner. Secure key card elevator system. Hotel provided a flat rate for taxi to/from the airport which arrived very quickly even during rush hour. Nice large comfortable bed and very effective temperature control. Downsides: The bathroom had a shower curtain unfortunately which is unfavourable and the storage space was so minimal we weren’t able to fully unpack our suitcases. The hotel provided a kettle upon request but refused to provide mugs. This meant we had to re-use paper cups (which was unhygienic) and buy our own tea bags to have a hot drink in the room. I haven’t ever stayed in a hotel where hot drinks weren’t facilitated in the rooms. They do have a cafe downstairs but it’s not open 24/7 and was expensive (also charging to hand over empty cups without lids and requesting 22% tip each time).

Great value!
Very nice hotel for the cost - a gem in midtown. The rooms were spacious but did not match the photos in terms of windows, no robes, and the lighting in the hallways and rooms was kinda dim. Overall, great value and great stay.

This hotel was clean, and staff was friendly….has a cafe, restaurant and bar on site which was so convenient, and was on the same block as the 33rd street subway stop (6 line). Close to many tourist areas and we felt safe!

It is an historic building that is well maintained and updated. Rooms are small but it is NYC and an older building which is status quo. It takes forever to get a car from the valet. The valet ticket says to allow 40 minutes. We didn't notice that at first and was late getting to our venue.

Good, but no water?
Great location. Only issue was that the hotel did not have a water dispenser in the building, so you were forced to purchase bottled water from street vendors, or pay for the bottled water placed in the mini fridge.
