The location was amazing and the bed and bathroom great but the room was tired looking and the walls were very scuffed and there was a big stain on the chair.

4/10 Fair

The hotel is in a perfect location! It has a lot of potential if it were better maintained & the staff more knowledgeable. We booked with Hotels.com, & the photos led us to believe we reserved a room with a balcony; the only reason we chose the hotel, as an outdoor space was essential for our six-day stay. Upon arrival, we were informed our room did not have a balcony. Although the receptionist said they would look into the photos, we were not offered any compensation. We asked to change rooms, but all the rooms with balconies were already booked. The hotel could really use a deep clean. The walls in the stairwell leading to the rooms are dirty, the place needs fresh paint, & the housekeeping staff needs improvement. Our bathroom had a musty smell, with moldy caulk around the shower. The sink did not drain properly, & the overflow pipe was taped up, which seemed to be the source of the bad odor. We mentioned this to reception, but nothing was done. The bathtub hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests, & despite bringing this to the staff’s attention, it was never cleaned, so we didn’t use it. The floors were “clean” except for the dust and dirt under the furniture, which looked like it was never moved, leaving dust on the wood floors. Redeeming factors were the comfortable bed & the prime location. If the hotel improved its cleanliness, ensured the photos were accurate, & provided staff with more training, this place could be a gem! Truly not sure we would return.

4/10 Fair

I picked this property for it's safe and convenient location and upgraded to the Penthouse as the photos and description (on this platform and others) showed a decorative tub overlooking the city and a balcony view- perfect for Amsterdam, right? Well first off, you can only take the lift to the 4th floor and then you have to lug your suitcase up narrow flight of stairs. While this is somewhat normal in Europe, the website didn't provide that information. Luckily, that didn't cause an issue- more of an inconvenience. The real problem was when we entered our room and immediately noticed there was no tub in the room and no balcony. I called down to the front desk right then and expressed my concern that we had the wrong room. I was told that there are two different penthouses, one with the tub and one without, but that neither had a balcony. The front desk told me they'd look into the issue and follow back up. They never did. They never offered to move us to a room with a balcony, and didn't offer to move us into the penthouse we booked when available. Additionally, the shower handle was broken and so was the sink (huge crack where the drain is). What made matters worse is that in the middle of our stay (about 5 days), we hear them checking someone into the other penthouse for one night!!!! So essentially, they could've made things right and moved us into the correct room for a shorter amount of time so we could have the room we booked, and they did not. They didn't care enough

Really enjoyed my stay here. Reserved a single bed room for one person (myself). Excellent location close to Amsterdam Central station. Plenty of closeby places to eat and have a drink. While the street was full of action, my room was super quiet thanks to the noise cancelation windows. Lovely view of the city from my room as well along with a modern design for the room. The staff was very kind and courteous. Overall, two enthusiastic thumbs up.

This hotel is a great location, it is walking distance to Buckingham Palace. The hotel is also close to Victoria station so it is easy to get around. There are many pubs and restaurants near the hotel. The rooms in the hotel are a bit small but the bathroom is renovated. The staff are great and very friendly. We asked for slippers and bath robes which were provided. We also requested a late check out and were able to check out at 1:00 pm at no extra charge.

8/10 Very good

Cute hotel with very helpful staff. Relatively close to train station and a hip little street with great restaurants and shopping. It didn't feel packed with tourists as streets closer to the station. The room was huge with a separate seating area and we could listen to the birds through the giant sliding doors overlooking back yards and a church. The only issue is completely solvable: it wasn't well cleaned. There was a lot of dust behind the bathroom door, drips on the hardwood floor, hair in the drawer, finger marks on the bathroom door, and a prominent stain on the arm chair. Just a little more TLC from housekeeping would make this a 10/10.
