Chachagua Shangri-la
We had a very good stay, just one night but still good. Juan Diego was an awesome host and did a great nature tour. We live in Sarchi and still learned lots about Costa Rica from him. Our room was spacious and the jacuzzi was nice. Breakfast was good also. The happy hour was good but we wished they had a wine and maybe a cerveza on the happy hour menu. We like to drink. Lol. Overall a great experience on a beautiful property with great hosts, next time we will stay longer.

Super hotel
Had a super welcome , sorry forgot the lovely ladies name . Lovely corner room bright and airy , we had 2 very tasty evening meals and the staff who work in the restaurant are lovely , my only complaint is the cost of the night tour $45 each , just a little over priced

A Rainforest Experience
The ecolodge is an amazing place to stay at. It offered the perfect mix of comfort, hiking, and exploring. The grounds were so beautiful, with abundant wildlife to watch as we ate delicious, fresh food in the open-air dining room or rested in the hammock on the beautiful bungalow porch. The staff members were outstanding as well. Diego, the on-site naturalist, during a night hike, showed us a wild cat leaping in the tree-tops.

Great and not so great experience
The drive up a mostly unpaved road is not the easiest, but the setting is gorgeous with beautiful landscaping, lagoons, pool, villas and buildings spread about the property, so it seemed semi-private and quiet. The staff was wonderful in every way but we felt uncomfortable and did not want to use the bathroom or shower because the supposedly non-see through large windows which take up two walls were DEFINITELY see-through at dusk and later in the dark. We checked it out and my husband could see me clearly through the glass both times, so we did not feel comfortable getting naked to shower or hardly to use the toilet, feeling very "exposed" to anyone who might choose to be looking. We were too tired to change rooms since we were all unpacked and tired. We explained this to the management as we left who promised to check it out again, telling us that the glass of the windows was supposed to be a one-way glass. Not our room! Definitely consider this if staying here.

The highlight of our 10-day Costa Rica visit!
We stayed at the eco lodge for three nights at the beginning of December 2018. I knew this place was going to be nice due to the good reviews but we weren't prepared for how amazing it was! The room blew us away, we didn't expect such a beautiful, quiet setting with the river running beside us and the awesome front porch. The food at the restaurant was SO good and the service exceptional. We really enjoyed hanging out on the porch in the evenings and the breakfast buffet (included for free with stay) was the highlight of our mornings. The setting is so peaceful and the landscaping so beautiful. We stayed in four places on our trip to Costa Rica but this was by far our favorite. If you are considering staying here we highly recommend it.

Quite a ways away from LaFortuna
This place is a total oasis. The landscaping is in immaculate! Breakfast is very nice. The staff is also pleasant. The bungalows are just as nice as the pictures. This is a bird lovers paradise. Nature EVERYWHERE & you FEEL like you’re in the rain forest. The pool is decent but not at all glamorous. The drawback is that it’s about a half hours drive down a long, windy & sometimes rough road to LaFortuna. If you want seclusion; this is the place. The porches are wonderful. I don’t know if I’d recommend it if most of your activities are volcano centered. The drive is a bit of a drag. But if you had a day of LaFortuna actives & then just wanted to read, relax, watch & listen to wildlife - this is your place!!

Great Choice for visiting Arenal
My family's stay at the Chachagua Rainforest Eco Lodge was incredible. The rainforest location in itself was spectacular. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful...it was clear they wanted us to enjoy our stay in the area. The bungalows were comfortable and we especially liked the porches with hammock and other outdoor seating. The restaurant was great at the end of the day and breakfast was substantial enough to get us ready for active days. We did the night hike activity which was great! Enjoyed watching monkeys play in the trees during breakfast. Jose and Diego were great hosts!
