Fabulous Location and great food

Slow check, First 2 staff could not help and waited for a third. Breakfast fees increased from £12 to £15 since time of booking so declined breakfast. Otherwise food good, enjoyed our evening meal. Lighting in room was poor only one bedside light could have done with a light either side. The pub has a fabulous location and great grounds and parking facilities.

We were in the area for a wedding and booked the hotel. The hotel is absolutely beautiful in the most amazing setting. The staff were so lovely and friendly. Made our stay wonderful. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back

A pleasure to stsy

Got upgraded, excellent food and accomadation Unfortunately there was no hot water in the morning ,which was disappointing

Wait til it’s been updated …

Booked on a whim, too cluttered for my liking. The room has amazing potential with bit of money spent on it, a must is a small fridge, coffee maker, dressing table with accessible plugs and a mirror above. A mediocre stay … only vice I swapped Tesco vouchers but still feel short changed …

Pleasant quiet stay

Quiet location and nice restaurant although there were too many flies in the restaurant which were a distraction and serious mistakes on the bill

The staff are very friendly and helpful. They were so welcoming, especially the Manager. Went out of her way to make the stay perfect.

Pleasant place to stay

Lovely location. We were given a room in the courtyard, nicely decorated with simple furnishings. Tea,coffee and milk provided but no bottled water, which would usually be expected. The bathroom was adequate but the shower grouting was a bit grim. Food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service, the beer garden was lovely.

Food excellent and staff very good

Husband had the steak and he said it was very good. The full english breakfast was very good. Only issue was finding a plug socket near a mirror so i could straighten my hair. Staff were lovely and i would stay there again.

Comfortable but overlooked.

Very comfortable stay. Only one criticism - the ground floor annex is directly overlooked by kitchen staff having a smoke around the back, so there is no privacy.

Freezing room and water

Room was freezing cold, bed uncomfortable that left me with a bad back and neck all day and zero hot water. Checked out before breakfast because I just wanted to leave. The evening meal the night before was lovely except the sugar on my creme brulle was a little too done.
Chris, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Spacious room with a very comfortable 4 poster bed. Toiletries and tea and coffee provided. Tasty breakfast served promptly - this had to be pre ordered and paid for on arrival.

Had a great time.

Loved the place. It was right next door to Oxburgh Hall where we wanted to visit. The weather was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better location. Staff were attentive and the breakfast was probably the best we've had. Couldn't finish it all. It was very tasty. The only criticism we have and it's something that would take very little to rectify was the housekeeping side of things. Noticed a few cobwebs hanging from the ceiling as well as cobwebs in thee radiator. The area at the back of the bed was also quite dusty. The toilet seat wouldn't stay up which obviously didn't bother the Mrs as much but when I went to the toilet I had to hold it up with my hand. The last thing was the shower head. It looked like it needed a good clean. For all the negatives these wouldn't stop us staying there again. We had a great couple of nights sleep, the place was pretty as a picture with lovely grounds and in an area steeped in history. Overall a very positive visit.
Stephen, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Exceptional food, very good service.

Lovely pub and hotel. Had to book early if you wanted a meal. Food though exceptional. Having to decide what you wanted for breakfast on Sunday the night before was a bit of a pain and breakfast being served at weekends from 8.30 was too late for me as i was working. And had to go without. I will though definately be staying here again.
Raymond, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Could have been better

The hotel is located in a lovely little village. However, the customer service did not match the quality of the property. While I understand that mistakes happen, how they are addressed makes a significant difference. I had to leave the hotel early during my stay, and the hot water was not working. Starting my busy day in London with a cold shower at 5:00 AM was not ideal. Although the water was fixed by the time I returned, there was no offer of compensation or even a complimentary hot meal after a long day. Additionally, the shower cubicle in my room was full of mold, which surprised me, as I have never encountered such a thing in a hotel before. The staff were friendly enough, but I would recommend looking elsewhere before booking here, especially paying £110 a night.
