Paid almost $500 to have a view of a concrete wall and the lobby parking area. Don’t call it a premier room and give a person the worst room in the hotel.

I have stayed in this property many times under different hotel owners. It has gone extremely down hill. The room was tiny. Hide and seek to find coffee, plugs behind heavy furniture, NINE dollars for waters.The public bathrooms were disgusting and very dirty off lobby. In restaurant, I ordered goat cheese. IF there was a tablespoon of goat cheese it was a lot. Meanwhile at night the bartender was miserable. She was complaining non stop. A lot would need to change for us to go back.

Good room didn’t like the add on fees

Good stay. Food seemed pricey compared to local restaurants for baseline quality.(ate at torpedo lounge) staff and general amenities were good. Shower was low volume with a significant wait for warm water. And resort fee of $50/night seemed excessive given most hotels are expected to give use of gym and pool without this charge. Parking was also expensive $35/day however you can use your car and return without charge?uh ok.

The inside has been updated and the rooms are clean! The downstairs area and lounge/bar is really nice and they provide a shuttle right to Bowens Wharf with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby!

Nice view but…

It was a ok hotel with higher prices. We had to call down for a room change because it wasn’t what we paid for. They did resolve it but the layout of the hotel is very confusing. Our room had us around the pool and thru ballrooms to go up stair (no elevation) to our room. The view was beautiful but the flow of the hotel is odd. The lounge was great and we enjoyed late night coffee and dessert with great live music. Hotel offered shuttle to 1 point in Newport which was helpful but limited and the shuttle itself was old and not very comfortable. All in all the hotel just seemed to nickel and dime you more than most and at the price you pay with the “resort” fee and self parking was 35/night didn’t seem to match up. I would not stay there again but the view was amazing. No offering of free coffee or any extra like that.

A Quick Getaway

Hotel room was clean and spacious. We had a beautiful water view and a view of the Newport Bridge. The food in the Torpedo Lounge was very good, especially the breakfast. Melissa, our server for breakfast, was top notch. She was warm, friendly and efficient. The only issue we had was a noisy room above us - the plank floors didn’t provide any soundproofing. Overall, a lovely stay.

Disappointed

The HVAC unit was so loud in the room you could not sleep. The water pressure was so weak the water was not able to come out of the entire shower head. The parking valet was less than accommodating to guests. This visit was in March which is the slow season. I do not see any reason to charge $35 for parking or a $$5 resort fee.

What a beautiful hotel. From pulling up to seeing the room, just amazing!! Lobby was decorated for the holidays making it so homey. My room was excellent with a view. The room deco and amenities were beyond expectations. Can’t wait to stay again !!
