8/10 Very good

The up side is that the property is a lovely, cozy apartment that is equipped with everything that one would need to be comfortably self-sufficient. The down side is that one must be self-suffient. Given the fact that it is located in an average Japanese neighborhood and not close to any hotel zone, there are no eateries in the area and all food has to be brought in from elsewhere and/ or prepared on site. Though it has a Kamakura address, it is actually much closer to Ofuna (two trains stops to the north), meaning that any proximity to Kamakura sites that are to be visited is pure foolishness. Transportation is a huge issue. It cost us 2600 Yen to get from Kamakura Station to the apartment, and then, not being familiar with the local bus lines, were essentially stuck there. It was only through the kindness of the gentleman owner of the apartment that we were returned without cost to the Station the next morning. So, a great little place, but the remoteness of the property is a big liability.
