8/10 Very good

Property is high up a mountain secluded. I did not get the chance to explore the area so I'm not sure if there's other options in, but our option was thru a taxi. Definitely would have to drive up to get up there. The facilities had a fantastic view. The hotel also had a spacious onsen, very well equipped. The dinner was traditional Japanese and had great customer service. The room was simple with all the amenities and even a bath tub for the room. Lots of privacy in the room and had a fantastic view.

10/10 Exceptional

We decided to go to this property for two reasons: 1) the proximity to some world heritage sites and 2) the onsen that this property had.
While my Japanese language skills are nearly non-existent and we were the only westerners at the property, the staff worked very hard to make us feel at home and to help translate things so that we could understand them.
This is not a five star property, but it accomplishes all of the things that they set out to do very well.
