This is a very charming hotel. It invites relaxation! Christine is a gracious host and she has such a welcoming "vibe". Dominique is equally as enthusiastic, and we really enjoyed the breakfast he prepared. We quite enjoyed our stay here and our time in Blaye.

4/10 Fair

Be prepared for no parking arrangements . Your car will often be on street parked a long way from the hotel . Hotel is dated and closes at 8pm . Access thereafter is up an alley and then an old steep external fire escape . Poor value breakfast .

We booked into the superior triple room .This property has a lot of charm and character . The owner , Madame Christine has put a lot of love and passion into the décor of each room. We were passing through Blaye for one night and I am so glad we chose this hotel. It is an easy walk to the Citadel / the room was impeccable and we had a comfortable stay.

Great Little Hotel
If you are coming to Blaye to see the fortress, the Auberge du Porche is perfect situated, about a five minute walk away. There may be other hotels a few minutes closer but they would either be right on D669 or up in the neighborhood, which is not particularly attractive. You get a little street noise from D669 at the Auberge if you are on the street side and have the windows open in the afternoon and early evening, but you are not right on the highway and it dies down after rush hour. If the windows are closed, it is negligible even in the afternoon. Good restaurants nearby; we ate at Le Carma and La Marina and liked them both very much. A few doors away from Le Carma is a cheese shop, but within a block or so from the Auberge on the route to the fortress, is a tabac, a little food store, and, if necessary or desirable, a little lingerie shop and a florist. A good choice of breakfast options at reasonable prices; very pleasant and helpful staff. Good WiFi strength. Various little sitting areas in the hallways, a little living room downstairs and an outdoor terrace. Our room was Chambre Tilleul
