Anzan is certainly a beautiful spot and the views are unobstructed and absolutely gorgeous.
That being said, we were not prepared for how remote the place actually is. You are on the lake and there is no access to a convenience store or restaurant so I would recommend bringing some food and supplies for the room. The closest town is San Marcos, which is not the nicest town in Atitlan and is a bit hard to get to, especially at night.
The room has some ants and scorpions, which is normal with such a remote location but beware if you don't like bugs. The towels were a bit old and had some stains.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious and fresh and so was the one dinner we had there. Be aware that the restaurant is not open on demand, but you have to make a reservation with the owner Dita in advance. You will likely have to fetch your own lunch and dinner on the nights where you don't have dinner reserved. This means you have to go into one of the neighboring towns.
Overall, this is a beautiful spot but some of the details were lacking, especially given the price. We expected a more refined experience and it was more rustic than expected.

This place was picture perfect full of art and passion. It was my first time visiting the lake and although I cannot compare it to other places, I cannot recommend Casa Rosa enough. If not for its location right next to the water with views through beutifully framed big windows, or the simple and elegant design that feature the interior, then it be for the attentiveness and passion of the host Dita. She designed this beautiful house with art and passion and she also cooks to rival any chef! She poured herself into this home, her attention to our needs and her food the only way she knows how; with perfection!

Loved waking up to volcano every morning and the gracious host. The stay was like having our own island. The scenic view and hospitality will make sure i come back for a return visit. The host went above and beyond to help make the property feel like our home. The dinner was fairly pricey but it was home grown and made with love. I would not hesitate to come back and visit this property. I have visited 60 countries and this ranks as one of my favorite stays!

Amazing View and Experience - Stay Here!
Our stay at Anzan Atitlan was exceptional - we would definitely stay again on any future trips to Lake Atitlan.
The room was beautiful - with an absolutely stunning view of the lake and volcanoes from both the bedroom and bathroom. It was a bit cloudy our first day but on our second it was clear and we were able to see a total of three volcanoes right from bed. The room is peaceful and the property quiet with the occasional sound of boats driving by on the lake.
Dita and her team were extremely helpful going above and beyond - they helped us arrange a private boat from Panajachel to her private dock upon arrival. And they also helped us arrange private transport at the end of our stay from Panajachel to Antigua. Dita was an extremely helpful resource in helping us navigate around the various towns and villages around the lake and gave us great recommendations.
The property also has a few "guard dogs" that will greet you upon arrival but they're perfectly friendly and mostly appeared to just sleep in the yard. We thought it was great they had dogs on the property, but something to note if you're not a dog person. If you are allergic you can notify Dita and her team and they will keep the dogs indoors.
Overall - a great stay especially if you're looking for a peaceful and unique experience as you are a little bit removed from the bustle of the larger villages but within easy commuting distance via boat or tuk tuk.

This place should be featured by architectural digest! Amazing design as well as stunning minimalistic decor, a Scandinavian feel mixed with elements of pure Mayan authenticity, amidst the most beautiful natural surroundings. Absolutely gorgeous artwork and decor! Beautiful garden where you can birdwatch, and unparalleled views of the volcano. The lake is literally a few footsteps away. This is a hidden treasure! The most attentive hosts who are available for any request. You will wish you could visit again!
