Always a great stay
The staff were all great and very accommodating. I just wish the renovations on the first and second floors weren’t taking place as traveling with a mom on a walker and two dogs were very challenging. But definitely will be back as I’ve stayed here several times in the past. PS The homeless guy out back was a little uncomfortable but my dogs kept me safe.

Nasty-Nasty-Nasty
You walk through the front door and the smell of cleaning solution is overwhelming. The reception desk is disgusting. The person checking me in was nice but couldn’t answer basic questions the hallways carpet had big, stains and dirty. Unsavory people wandering the hallways. Do not stay here I can’t believe hotels.com is representing this hotel. It doesn’t deserve even one star.

Absolutely deplorable and disgusting
Hotel was completely filthy, from the time you leave the front desk you greeted with carpets that have obvious signs of heavily worn out carpets with bleach stains throughout to the smell of both cigarettes and marijuana throughout the hallways. It doesn’t get any better once you get to the room. Once you open the door you’re greeted with a musty smell. There were stains of unknown substances on both the curtains as well as several other surfaces. While taking a shower a few cockroaches were spotted in and around the bathroom sink as well as where the toilet paper hold is. My advice for what it’s worth is stay somewhere else, don’t give the hotel your money it absolutely disgusting and owners as well as management should be ashamed of themselves. I should have taken photos but did not think about it at the time. I just can’t say it enough, this place should really be shutdown until it has been completely cleaned from top to bottom I really hope the city comes and does a inspection of this place

First check in is at 4 pm we arrived at 4:15 pm and the front desk clerk she said she had to check with housekeeping see if a room was ready yet and to have a seat until she gets back. Well luckily there was one ready. We parked around back and came through that entrance the carpet was filthy and had bleach stains on it throughout the hotel. Some sketchy people were coming in at the same time both were staggering in. The room smelled musty but appeared to be clean. The sheets had cigarette burns on them and we saw 3 baby roaches in the bathroom on check out day. The continental breakfast was horrible. I should have known by the way the outside looked like that it was a bad idea. I should have read the reviews but since it was Choice I thought it would be okay. I would not recommend or stay there ever again. The front desk lady was very pleasant.

This property needs a major uplift. Very run down and had seen better days. Lobby and restaurant bar are in fair shape. Some rooms are stripped to bare, maybe waiting for funds to update. Pool forget about it as the workout room. The room I stayed in clean sheets and towels but run down. I would pay $25 a night for this place. Breakfast was fine but the breakfast area was run down ceiling tiles falling and walls with noticeable water damage. It’s hard for these hotels, they need capital to upgrade. I would say support the small guy struggling but Clarion is not a small guy, They need good management, sales staff, maintenance staff, etc..

What you pay is what you get. Honestly. It’s below comparable in the area, ok for an emergency stop. I think the topping was when I noticed a pen was used as a paper toilet holder. The previous reviews were spot on, stained linen, outdated/ stained furniture, no comforters, mildew smell. Stay at your own risk.

Not worth saving a few dollars. Stay elsewhere.
The hotel itself is extremely run down. The carpet in the hallways is filthy, with many bleach stains throughout. The paint on the walls is peeling and chipped all over, and I mean every wall that’s not located in the lobby area. The lobby area looks clean and inviting, the bar/restaurant looked clean from the lobby. However just past the lobby is where it’s all downhill. I’m accustomed to traveling and staying in mid-grade chain hotels, saving a little money so we can splurge elsewhere on our vacation. However, I think staying in the “hotel chains I won’t ever visit again” such as Rodeway or Travellodge, or even Motel 6 might have been better in this area. The Clarion was extremely disappointing. The carpet in the room, stained, the lampshades, stained, the bathroom toilet paper holder was literally a pen stuck inside the roll. The sheets were clean, the mattress looked ok, the white comforter had chew holes in it that I noticed on our second day. When packing our car after checking out, I noticed a room with a heaving stained mattress propped up against the wall inside, curtains opened up. Super sketchy and gross. Also the indoor pool was filled with dirt and a scummy looking film on the top. I gave it a shot, telling myself I got what I paid for, but truthfully it’s not even close to a safe or clean stay and I’m really not a snob about hotels. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere if traveling with your family. Now I get to wash everything and worry about bugs.
