Ibis is part of the Accor group of hotels and so they maintain a standard. This hotel is a Red Ibis which means it is upgraded compared to green and blue. However, amenities are still very basic. They provide you with two towels and one floor towel. There are three pillows but there is no extra blanket and so you have to use the duvet/comforter as the blanket. The bed is firm but comfortable. Linens and towels are white and clean. They have a bidet in the restroom. They provide two very small facial soap. The shampoo is in a refillable container attached to the wall. They have a safebox for your important belongings. It is located along the main highway that connects the airport and the centro historico. It is 10km or 6.2 miles away from the airport. It is also in the area where modern buildings are starting to rise. The two big malls in asuncion are just a few steps away. Restaurants and stores for shopping abounds. Transportation by taxi, bus or uber are so accessible. It is also in a very safe area. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. Their breakfast is excellent. The only minus point that I can give is the centralized airconditiong that you cannot control because there is no thermostat in the room and it can get very cold at night. Their hot shower and wi-fi all works well. All in all I enjoyed my stay in this small hotel and I will surely choose it again if I ever go back to Asuncion.

Jag bokade rum med bäddsoffa för att jag gillar att lägga mig på soffan. Bäddsoffan visade sig vara en bänk och den går inte att ligga på om man inte är ett litet barn (se fotot). Jag använde den till att ställa saker på, inte att sitta på. Hotellet ligger mittemot Galeria del Sol. Här går det att växla pengar (ta med passet), de har en food court med ett stort antal restauranger, och massor av klädaffärer etc. Hotellet är i bra skick, men det känns inte lyxigt eller så. MYCKET lyhört från våningen ovanför. De gjorde en renovering, även på en söndag. Jag kunde höra varje fotsteg, när de drog en sladd över golvet etc. Bytte våning, samma ”bäddsoffa” = bänk där. AC funkar bra. Dörrarna till rummen stängs med en smäll och det hörs in i rummet. Frukosten var bra. Skulle tyvärr säga att två nätter på Ibis var två för många för mig, men jag har rest rätt mycket. Jag lockades av bilderna som tyvärr är missvisande. Men är man på en budget och inte störs av ljud (jag har öronproppar, men de blockerar inte ut allt), så är detta ett bra val. Det låter även från gatans trafik. Det är fräscht och rent, bra buffé till frukost och värdeskåpet rymmer en laptop. Det ligger nära flera shoppingcenter och massvis av restauranger. Området känns säkert, även om jag inte hade lust att gå ut efter mörkrets inbrott då jag reste som ensam kvinna.
