Average stay with poor service and food
Staff are nice but service times are dreadful
I order pie and mash meal in the restaurant and took over an hour, in the mean time another guest walked in, order starter and main and had finished before my food came.
Other guests had similar problems
Food wasn’t great either but no apology for the wait or anything, my colleague who I met here paid £200 for the night and the service is now where near that level of price

Great hotel, but improvements possible this time
Stay at this hotel regularly, it's very good. However this time some improvements could be made to make my stay better:
The Christmas music in the lobby and bar was a notch too loud, which made concentrating on work e-mails tricky.
Spotted the new self-checkout drinks/snack area by the entrance which looked great. Thought I'd get a small bottle of red wine and chocolate to take back up to the room. On self-checkout it asked me to get an authorisation from reception for the wine (over 18s), but there was only one staff on reception and a queue of 6 waiting to check in! I put the wine back and just got the chocolate. Great idea, but maybe not so great in practice.
Shower wasn't hot in the morning (around 07:15), although was hot the evening before. A demand problem?

Close but disappointing
Hotel was fine but started off badly as just felt ripped off with a £8 parking, £25 to checkin 2 hours early the £6.50 for a pint of beer.
The room was good and a good location but unfortunately we could not control the heating and was unfortably hot. Unfortunately as well twice in the morning the cleaners knocked well before checkout disturbing our morning.
