Disgusting Room Conditions and Terrible Experience
I recently stayed at Ramada by Wyndham Harrisonburg, and it was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I stepped into the room, I was appalled by the conditions. First, the room reeked of an unbearable smell that made it difficult to even sit inside, let alone sleep. The walls were concrete and poorly painted, giving the space a cold, prison-like feel. Basic amenities were either missing or unacceptable—there was no fresh toilet paper, and the smoke detector was off the wall and sitting on top of the fridge, which is a major safety concern. The shelving in the room was nothing more than cheap utility shelves, and the bathtub was dirty and clearly not cleaned. Worst of all, I found bodily fluids on the floor, which was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable for any hotel. Additionally, the bed was not the queen-sized bed I had booked, but rather a smaller full-size bed. I contacted the staff to address these issues, and while they assured me someone would follow up, no one did until I pushed repeatedly. Although I eventually received a refund, the lack of professionalism and the state of the room were unacceptable. If you’re considering staying here, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. This experience was nothing short of a nightmare.

Brief visit to attend Band Day at JMU. Good location just off I-81 and a short walk to a Cracker Barrel. Motel personnel friendly and helpful and room comfortable.

This property is old and had a cheap face lift. Bathroom door was broke, horrible tile work throughout. For the money I should have stayed elsewhere. I would not recommend this property unless you are in a pinch.

This Ramada was very dirty, the first room we were in did not lock every time I shut it and needed to be slammed shut for lock to catch. The second room was safer lock wise but still dirty. The bathroom had dirt in the corners and hair in the tub. The shower curtain was stained and looked like it was not changed out in awhile. the bedroom floor was dirty as well and both rooms smelled of moth balls. We never unpacked from the car and left a day earlier than planned. I was very disappointed and I’ve stayed in a lot of Ramadas over the years and US. The pictures of the amenities and rooms were mostly of the Microtel on the same property with the Ramada an outdated run down looking place behind it.

When we got there we found a few mothballs in the sink. The room did smell slightly of mothballs after that. Saw a few bugs in the bathroom.
