don't trust the pictures
The hotel stay did not live up to the pictures or ratings. We had a group and booked three rooms. Each room had issues with it. In one room, the microwave started sparking and burning when we used it (and we didn’t put anything crazy in there, just a biscuit on a napkin). We tried calling the front desk but the phone wouldn't even work so we had to use another room's phone. The heat did not work, the bathroom smelled like mold and the vent was very dirty. The door on one of the other rooms wouldn't even lock.

This property was recently renamed hence the banner over the original sign. Facility is tired and desperately needs upgrades. No handi cap rooms per the front desk staff. Free Breakfast was not very appealing. Bathrooms were tiny and cramped. Descent hot water and water pressure.

Overall, my stay was very enjoyable! Negatives: The USB charging ports were rusted and bent, so I could not use them. The shuttle service to the parks was very limited and came back at inconvenient times (ex. SeaWorld closed at 9pm, but the shuttle came back at 8:15pm). Positives: My sheet was dirty when I first entered the room, but I told the front desk and they were quick to get me new ones. All of the staff were very friendly the whole time. My room was quiet and the a/c and heater worked great. The bed was comfortable and the curtains worked great at keeping out the light.

This hotel room smelled moldy and furniture was old. Refrigerator was moldy with a smell. Ceiling had signs of leaking. Housekeeper kept banging on the door in the morning even when notified that we were checking out after 11. Toilet paper on the wall was half empty. My family and I did not feel comfortable staying here. We could not get out soon enough.

Sketchy area and no blanket for the bed!
This motel had the very basics that would qualify it to be a motel. The bed did not have a comforter or blanket. It had one bedsheet, and a king size “blanket” the thickness of a cheap burp cloth. The floor was dirty. The shower was walk in style with a shower curtain all the way to the floor- reminded me of the showers at a bad summer camp. Super sketchy parking lot, we did not feel safe. Breakfast had most things a continental breakfast would offer. We almost didn’t stay the night because the bed situation was so bad and how unsafe we felt.

Don’t stay here!
We booked this hotel because it was at walking distance of Universal Studios. It was the worst hotel we have stayed so far. We only stayed one night out of the 3 we booked. The beds were the most uncomfortable ones we have ever seen before. You can fill the mattress springs in your back. I asked for another room and bed was almost the same. I appreciated the front service offering me another room and cancelling the other two nights without any fine.

Probably will not be a repeat guest
The good: The property was clean and the staff was friendly. They fixed an issue with our door lock while we were away for the day and had new keys all ready for us upon our return. Breakfast was decent, with several choices. The water in the shower was hot and the water pressure was great. Driving distance to Universal and surrounding I-Drive attractions is excellent. The bad: Don’t believe the “10 minute walk to Universal” in the description. It’s at least double that unless you just want to be on the fringes of Universal property. There were several things noted in disrepair - the back door to the lobby, the bathroom door in our room, and one of the elevators was out. Our phone was missing the cord for the handset so we had to go to the lobby in the next building to request new towels, something they don’t do regularly unless asked. The ugly: The beds were very uncomfortable, with springs hitting every pressure point. The pillows were small and lumpy.
