Poor quality sleep
The hotel was clean and the staff pleasant. However there was a real issue with noise and sound carrying from room to room. More so than just loud noises, there was constant noises of plumbing too. You could hear everything, including if someone had a shower or walked along the corridor. This made for a particularly disturbed night of sleep. When combined with an extremely hard mattress, and curtains that didn’t block out the light, it resulted in a terrible stay. The hotel was pleasant and a good location, but if you are a light sleeper in any way, the rooms are simply unsuitable for sleeping in

Poor service, poor management
The location and breakfast were good. That's where the positives end. The hotel double charged me for my stay. I informed the front desk about it, and the receptionist was completely unwilling to help. She kept insisting that I had not been double charged, despite me showing proof that I had been. This went on for a while - she was very stubborn. Given that I was getting nowhere with her, I contacted Hotels.com customer service, and they phoned her on my behalf. It worked! The hotel now promised me a refund. Shout out to Hotels.com customer service for solving the issue so promptly. I eventually received my refund, but unfortunately, there's $25 missing from it. I'm now back home, so I emailed the hotel management about the missing $25. The person who replied to my email writes in broken English (which is odd given that the staff at the hotel all spoke great English when I was there), so I don't have high hopes of receiving the missing $25. If they do eventually refund the missing $25, I will update this review. For thoroughness, I do want to mention that one of the girls working the front desk was very helpful, but there was enough bad service from others to sour my views of the hotel as a whole.

A nice surprise
Wonderful staff. We had to leave for the airport before breakfast service started, and the front desk surprised us with two bags of breakfast treats to go! The room was small, and no tv, but we spent our time out in Rome rather than the room so not a big deal. Hotel is right on a small friendly piazza in a quiet neighborhood. We’d definitely stay there again.

I would stay again
This is the perfect hotel for a 2 nigiht stay in Monti, Rome. Casa Santa Sofia is situated in a small square with several cafes and restaurants nearby. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The only downfall was that there was no tv, no big deal. I would stay here again. Thank you 😊

Excellent, just know the regular rooms have no TV.
The hotel is very nice. The staff are very helpful. They spoke very good English. The location was great! Only a 5 minute walk to the subway. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The only minor thing is that the regular rooms do not have a television or any place to sit besides the beds. We chose to upgrade to a suite in order to have a little more room and a television.

Lovely hotel by the Colosseum
Super cute boutique hotel in walking distance to the Colosseum! 2-3 blocks at most! The hotel is conveniently located in a little square with eateries and shopping. I loved the herbal scents of the soaps and lotion in the bathroom. I'd stay herw again!

When I checked in, the employee at the desk was friendly, helpful, respectful and knowledgeable. The lobby was clean, welcoming and cold water was available after the walk from the station in the heat. The room was simple, but offered all the items I needed. The hotel was very clean and the staff were warm, friendly and courteous. A small fridge and tv in the room would have been nice. It would be nice if the city of Rome could care a little bit more about the litter that is strewn everywhere in the section of Monti (absolutely no fault of the hotel). They assigned me room 305 which is super small. The cleaning lady starts making a horrible noise around 8am, making it impossible for the guest to rest. There is a wooden ramp in front of the room door where they go up and down a cleaning cart and heavy things, which makes your stay a disaster :/
