Probably last time in Carthage
I have stayed multiple times at this property. The first time I enjoyed it, the last time it was a bit more trying. Possibly because I was a very late arrival. But three things concerned me; they have almost doubled the pet fee - on their form it said $25, they charged $40, The room carpet was in terrible condition and one thing about “fees?!”

My worst hotel experience ever
Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in 45 years! I reserved a room with 2 queen beds and when I arrived was told there were none available, my mom would be spending 1 night with us so we needed the extra bed. They rushed to “clean” a room for us at 11pm. I’ve attached a picture of the mirror in our room that was disgusting. We had no blankets on our beds, when we asked for them we were told there was a shortage of blankets and we had to go to our car and get our own blankets that we use for traveling. Our room smelled like cigarettes the entire 5 days. The room next to us # 251 was adjoined to ours, those people fought and cussed every night. I also suspect that’s where the cigarette smoke came from. When I complained twice, the only resolution offered was for us to switch rooms. On our second morning we tried to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast but there was none “due to a medical emergency” the next morning the biscuits and sausage were burnt almost black. The entire place smelled like chlorine from the pool and the glass door at the entrance was shattered. The employees all look very trashy and unprofessional and they do not care and act like the guests are a bother. We asked multiple times for tp and clean towels and didn’t get them until I finally had to go and stand at the desk until somebody literally handed them to me. Very poor service and dirty hotel, the owners should be ashamed.

Horrible Stay
We were staying for a friends wedding for the weekend to say this hotel was awful is an understatement the smells of weed in the hall when this hotel is supposed to be non smoking, black mold on the air vent which triggered both myself and my wife's allergies. The phone was not connected to the wall so you cannot contact front desk if you needed something and when I went up to the front desk it felt like as a guest i was being a bother to them over simple requests i even got an eyeroll from the employee because i disrupted there dinner. If your looking for somewhere to stay, stay somewhere else.

The ac needed to be cleaned because it was blowing out dust and I have bad allergies. When I check out the guy said I never check in but then how did I already have a room card. The person that check me in quited that night and mess up stuff in the System I heard . Guy ask me to let y’all know he show me there and to let y’all know about the ac unit. How can I give y’all the right type of feed back when I cannot give you name of the person that help me and knows I was there.

A 7th year guest and won’t make it an 8th.
Where do I begin? I tried to check in early. No big deal that we couldn’t, but was given the reason that none of the rooms were clean….at 2:30pm. Ok. Went back a good 30-45 minutes after the check in time of 4pm, was told all the rooms were still dirty. The desk clerk had to go check each room to make sure it was clean before she could check someone in. Ok. But then she tried to give us a king for 4 people instead of two queens. She did fix that, after going to check yet another room (we were on a time crunch with activities we were doing). The room wasn’t terrible. The hallway (paint splotches and carpet with lumps in it) and the foyer (cracked door glass) was in terrible shape. Our friends had different rooms with conditions that weren’t great (missing a phone cord, no mirror, wanted 2 queens and got a king with a pullout that didn’t work). Then breakfast, at 7:30 they were out of biscuits and gravy and basically told tough luck. Our room key wouldn’t work multiple times. We joked that it was good for one use only. There were old room keys still on the counter when we were checking in and they were still there when we checked out in the morning. At checkout, I almost lost what little breakfast I had due to the fact that the clerk was chewing chaw and had a clear bottle he was spitting it in sitting next to him. He never once stood up to greet us. Therefore you had to look down at the check at the chaw spit! I can go on, but I am out of the allowed characters

Everything was good except the toilet I think it was meant for a child it was so low. At checkout I was told the printer didnt work (again) and it would be emailed to me. I never received an email receipt. This property always has some kind of issue

Serviceable
Check in went quickly. When I got to the room it smells as it had been a previous smoking room. Not overwhelming but the odor was there. The bed was comfortable, the TV was functional, the bathroom was serviceable. At breakfast there were several available items. Scrambled eggs, waffle maker, biscuits and gravy, sausage patties. The usual they'll know fresh or even canned fruit. I asked for butter and jam for the biscuit and was emphatically told no. You get what you pay for in this property. Don't expect anything more.

We found a different looking motel than was pictured in the ad. Not enough staff to work front desk. Breakfast was limited/waffles closed/ several things were out of order. To find Ice was a problem/machine out of order. Curains in room were torn/frayed and would not close. Opened refrigerator and it fell out onto the floor. TV would not work well. Key would not work in door/tried over and over. Had to cut a new key/it would not work. Sorry. Bad Experience.

Quality this was not. The room smells as if someone just sprayed Febreeze to cover some odors. The bathroom needed bleached, and could have used fresh rolls of toilet paper. The shower never really got hot, and one of the towels had stains on it. The AC whined so loudly that I turned it off so I could sleep. The carpet trim was peeling in several places. The breakfast was lame: coffee ran out, no juices, no hot water for tea. At least it was relatively quiet, so I slept well.
